Facebook’s official descriptions explain same-date resurfacing, but do not confirm a universal calendar for choosing any date within Memories.

See today’s Memories
- Sign in to Facebook and open facebook.com/memories.
- Browse the content Facebook has surfaced for the current date, including items from the same date in earlier years when available.
Meta’s 2015 explanation says On This Day shows content from the date in the past, and its 2018 announcement describes Memories as a single place for posts, photos, friendships and major life events. Meta listed historical routes including the On This Day bookmark, searching Facebook for “On This Day,” and facebook.com/onthisday; because those routes were documented in 2015, the current menu location or availability may differ.
Find your own post or activity from another date
- Open your Facebook profile and go to Activity Log.
- Use the filters or content-finding controls currently shown in your account to narrow the activity by date or type, if those controls are available.
- Review the results for the post or other activity you are trying to locate.
Facebook describes Activity Log as a place to review and manage what you have shared. Its Help Centre says the log starts with the current year and most recent activity by default. Facebook’s documentation does not establish one current, universal sequence of taps for date filtering across platforms, so exact controls can differ.
Why a Memory or post may not appear
- Memories is a surfaced selection, not a complete calendar of everything you have posted. A missing Memory alone does not show that the original post was deleted.
- Whether content appears can depend on the original item, its visibility, and account settings.
- Activity Log is for reviewing activity associated with your account; do not treat it as a complete archive of content authored by other people.
Meta’s 2016 description of On This Day preferences covered excluding people or dates from that experience, but it is historical documentation and does not establish that the same controls remain available or in the same place today.

What Facebook has documented about Memories
Meta reported in June 2018 that more than 90 million people used On This Day daily. That is a historical company-reported figure, not a current usage estimate. The same announcement described Memories as bringing together moments people had shared with family and friends.
