Schedule the live broadcast in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, but treat the playlist or video queue that supplies its content as a separate setup. YouTube’s published guidance explains how to schedule a live event; it does not document an ordinary playlist automatically playing its videos in sequence as scheduled live blocks. It also does not specify how Live Control Room handles time zones, so verify the event’s displayed time against Indian Standard Time (IST) before you share it.
What you can schedule in YouTube Studio
A scheduled YouTube Live stream is an upcoming broadcast event. In YouTube Studio, the documented encoder workflow is to open Live Control Room, choose Manage, then select Schedule stream. You can create a new event or reuse previous stream settings. Scheduling gives you an event page and URL to share in advance. YouTube says upcoming scheduled streams may appear in subscribers’ feeds, where viewers can choose Notify me (YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder; YouTube Help: Promote your live stream).
That broadcast event is not the same thing as an ordinary YouTube playlist. The official guidance reviewed here covers scheduling a broadcast and, separately, organizing completed stream archives or highlights into playlists. It does not document a native feature that takes a regular playlist and broadcasts its videos one after another as scheduled live blocks. If your production depends on a sequence of pre-recorded videos, plan the content queue separately and verify the behavior of any external production or streaming workflow you use.
Schedule the live event, then verify its IST time
- Plan the broadcast. Decide what each block contains, how long the full event should run, and whether you can sustain the cadence. YouTube recommends planning a consistent, sustainable schedule and communicating changes to viewers (YouTube Help: Upload schedule tips).
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, go to Manage and select Schedule stream. Create an event or reuse previous stream settings, then enter the details requested in Studio. The documented workflow does not establish a specific IST selector or live-event time-zone control (YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder).
- Inspect the scheduled event’s displayed time. Before announcing the event, compare the time shown in Live Control Room with the intended IST start time. The official live-stream scheduling guidance reviewed here does not say whether the displayed time follows your device, account settings, or an explicit time-zone selector. Do not assume a control from another YouTube workflow applies.
- Share the event URL only after checking the time. Let viewers know when to expect the stream and update them if the schedule changes. Upcoming scheduled streams may offer subscribers a Notify me option (YouTube Help: Promote your live stream).
Do not borrow the scheduled-video time-zone steps
YouTube’s scheduled publishing instructions for uploaded videos include a time-zone choice, and YouTube says the published date shown on a video’s watch page is based on Pacific Standard Time. That is a different workflow from scheduling a live event; those instructions do not establish how Live Control Room times a scheduled livestream. Use the event’s displayed time and verify its conversion to IST rather than looking for an assumed live-stream time-zone setting (YouTube Help: Schedule video publish time).

Prepare and monitor a playlist-fed broadcast
If an encoder or other external production setup is supplying pre-recorded blocks, treat it as a separate part of the production rather than a YouTube playlist setting. The YouTube guidance reviewed here does not validate a particular software queue or guarantee that it will play unattended. Test the actual setup before relying on it for a long or important event.
- Set up the encoder ahead of the scheduled start.
- Start the encoder before the planned event, then preview the feed in Live Control Room.
- Confirm the event is accessible and check that both audio and video are present.
- Monitor audio and video during the broadcast, and have a plan for handling a stalled or interrupted feed.
YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for events that need higher production value; that is a production recommendation, not a requirement for scheduling a live stream (YouTube Help: Live streaming tips).

After the event
Once the broadcast is over, you can organize its archive or useful highlight clips into playlists. YouTube’s promotion guidance discusses playlists as a way to organize this material; it does not describe them as a way to schedule future live playback (YouTube Help: Promote your live stream).
