To schedule an edited video as a YouTube live broadcast with OneStream Live, connect your YouTube channel, open Pre-recorded Stream, add the video, select YouTube as the destination, enter the stream details and schedule it. If you already made a YouTube event, choose the existing-event workflow instead of creating a duplicate.
Before you schedule: connect YouTube and check eligibility
In OneStream Live, open Social Platforms, add or connect YouTube, select the account and channel, choose a category, and complete the connection. The connected channel will then be available as a destination for a scheduled prerecorded stream. (OneStream Live, YouTube connection guide, updated August 18, 2026.)
Also check YouTube’s requirements before troubleshooting the scheduling flow: YouTube Help says the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16 years old. These are YouTube platform prerequisites, not OneStream plan requirements. (YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming, accessed October 3, 2026.)
Schedule a new prerecorded broadcast
- Open the prerecorded workflow. In OneStream Live, select Pre-recorded Stream, then click Add Videos.
- Choose the recording. Select a video from your device or OneStream storage, or from supported cloud storage such as Google Drive or Dropbox. Select the content and continue.
- Select the destination. Choose the connected YouTube account and channel where the broadcast should appear.
- Enter the stream details. Add the title, description and tags, and select a thumbnail. Set the broadcast date and time. Review the announcement controls shown in your workflow; OneStream’s onboarding guidance describes an Announce Stream option and an event announcement time, but the exact controls may vary by workflow or version.
- Schedule it. Review the destination and details, then click Schedule Broadcast. OneStream’s documented sequence is video source, destination, stream details and scheduling. (OneStream Live, scheduling guide, updated September 7, 2026.)
Attach the video to an existing YouTube event
If you already created the event on YouTube, use OneStream Live’s existing-event route to avoid setting up a second event:

- Confirm that the intended YouTube channel is connected in OneStream Live.

- Select the YouTube event and add the prerecorded video.
- Review the event’s title, description, thumbnail, privacy and date/time in the workflow.
- Click Schedule Broadcast after checking that the event and destination are correct.
The exact labels and available controls may change with the product interface. (OneStream Live, existing YouTube event guide.)
Choose a one-time or recurring schedule
A single scheduled broadcast is appropriate for a one-off premiere or program. For a repeating broadcast, OneStream Live documents a separate Repeat Stream option: after selecting the video, destinations, stream details and start time, turn on the repeat option, set Repeats Every using an interval in days or weeks, and specify the number of occurrences. Check the resulting dates before scheduling so the repetition matches your intended calendar. (OneStream Live, recurring prerecorded stream guide.)

Announcements and what viewers see
A scheduled YouTube live stream may appear as upcoming in subscribers’ feeds. Viewers can choose Notify me, and YouTube says it sends a notification when the scheduled live stream is about to begin. This is distinct from OneStream’s own announcement controls: review both the event’s YouTube visibility and any announcement option presented in OneStream. (YouTube Help, Manage live stream settings, accessed October 3, 2026.)
Advanced options and plan availability
OneStream Live’s advanced-scheduling guidance lists controls for video orientation (180°/360°), deleting the VOD after a stream, YouTube DVR, YouTube Kids designation and YouTube monetization. The help article says advanced scheduling is supported on Standard and higher-tier plans; confirm the options available in your account and current plan before relying on a particular control. Monetization remains subject to YouTube channel eligibility and platform rules. (OneStream Live, advanced scheduling guide, updated July 7, 2026.)

Review the broadcast before its scheduled time
- Confirm the connected channel is the one you intend to use, especially if you manage multiple YouTube channels.
- Check that the selected video, title, thumbnail, privacy and scheduled time correspond to the intended event.
- Review whether the event should be announced and whether YouTube’s upcoming-event visibility is appropriate.
- Check that the recording and any music, footage or other included material are cleared for your intended use. YouTube rules and copyright claims still apply to prerecorded broadcasts.
- For high-stakes events, schedule and review well in advance. YouTube’s encoder-oriented guidance recommends setting up an encoder at least two hours before an event, starting it at least 15 minutes early, previewing in Live Control Room and checking accessibility. Those are encoder-workflow recommendations, not requirements for OneStream’s cloud-hosted prerecorded scheduling flow; use them only if your setup includes an encoder.
Troubleshooting common scheduling problems
YouTube is missing from the destination list
Return to Social Platforms and confirm that the intended account and channel are connected. If the channel is not eligible to stream, resolve YouTube’s verification or restriction issue; a third-party scheduling workflow cannot override YouTube’s platform requirements.
The schedule or event does not match
If the YouTube event already exists, choose Existing Event and select that event rather than creating a new broadcast. Review the selected event’s date/time, privacy and details before clicking Schedule Broadcast.

The announcement option is absent or different
OneStream notes that the precise controls can depend on workflow or version. Check the current stream-creation path and account interface; separately confirm YouTube’s event visibility and notification behavior.
An advanced setting is unavailable
Check whether the option is part of advanced scheduling and whether the account is on Standard or a higher-tier plan, as described in OneStream’s help article. Confirm current plan terms and the controls displayed in your account before planning around that setting.
