Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →To schedule a YouTube Live rotation of prerecorded devotional videos, create a scheduled event in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, then use an encoder such as OBS to play an authorized playlist into that event. YouTube scheduling creates the event and watch page; it does not play a regular playlist as a live broadcast by itself.
Before you schedule: check eligibility, rights and timing
Confirm the channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel and no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its getting-started guidance says streamers must be at least 16. YouTube offers mobile, webcam, encoder and console methods; for a rotation of prerecorded video files, the encoder workflow is the relevant option. Requirements can vary by method, so check YouTube’s current live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance.
Clear every video and audio track
Before adding a file, confirm you have permission to broadcast it. A devotional subject does not automatically make a recording free to use: rights may apply both to the particular recording and to the underlying music or other material. YouTube says live content must comply with its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, but its general guidance cannot determine whether a specific bhajan, kirtan, Gurbani recording, temple video or film excerpt is cleared for your use. Do not schedule material unless you have verified the relevant permissions.
Choose the observance and audience time zone
Check the particular festival observance for the year and the region or community you intend to reach. India has varied regional and community observances, so do not assume one date or time suits every audience. YouTube recommends considering notable dates such as local or global holidays when planning a sustainable release schedule. State the time zone clearly in the event details and any announcement; YouTube’s live upload schedule tips also recommend communicating schedule changes.

Prepare a deliberate playlist in OBS
Arrange and add the files
- Put the video files in the order you want viewers to see them. Check that the chosen sequence suits the observance and the planned broadcast length.
- Install VLC if it is not already installed. In OBS, add a VLC Video source to the scene, then add the media files to that source’s playlist. The source will not appear unless VLC is installed; for 64-bit OBS, use 64-bit VLC.
- In the VLC Video source properties, enable Loop Playlist if playback should restart after the final file. Leave Shuffle Playlist off when the order is intentional; shuffle randomizes playback and is off by default.
OBS documents the playlist, loop and shuffle controls in its Media Sources guide (published January 11, 2022). Labels or software behavior may change, so check the current OBS and VLC interfaces when configuring the source.
Preview and test the complete chain
- Preview the OBS scene and confirm that the correct file starts and that the order is right.
- Listen for clear, audible audio and check that it continues through transitions between files.
- Confirm the playlist either stops at the end or loops, as intended, and that shuffle is set appropriately.
- Run a short test before relying on the setup for a longer event. This helps catch playlist, scene and audio problems before the scheduled broadcast.
OBS explains how sources are layered and managed in its Sources Guide (published January 11, 2022).

Create and schedule the YouTube Live event
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Create a live event, then enter its title and description.
- Set the scheduled date and time after checking the observance and audience time zone. Include the time zone in the description so viewers know when to join.
- Choose the stream settings and configure the encoder connection using the stream key provided for the event. Keep the key private; use the event’s correct key in OBS rather than assuming a previously copied key is still appropriate.
- Review the event details before saving. If you reuse stream settings to save time, check the copied title, description, schedule and stream key rather than carrying old event details forward.
- Start OBS and connect it to the scheduled event in time to verify the incoming feed before the event begins. Check YouTube’s current live stream settings guidance for the available controls and workflow.
A scheduled stream may appear to subscribers as an upcoming event, and viewers can choose Notify me. Schedule early enough for people to find the event and opt in; scheduling alone does not guarantee that every subscriber will receive or see a notification.
Choose how the stream should finish
Decide whether the broadcast should simply end after the playlist or whether viewers should be directed to another event. YouTube’s Live Redirect can send viewers to a Premiere or another live stream after the current event ends. YouTube currently documents sender eligibility as more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. Live Redirect is a handoff after the event, not a way to rotate videos inside the current stream; see YouTube’s Live Redirect guidance.

Common problems and fixes
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| The VLC Video source is missing in OBS. | VLC is not installed, or its architecture does not match OBS. | Install VLC; if OBS is 64-bit, use 64-bit VLC, then reopen or check OBS. |
| The playlist ends and stays stopped. | Loop Playlist is off. | Open the VLC Video source properties and enable Loop Playlist if a repeat is intended. |
| Videos play in an unexpected order. | Shuffle Playlist is enabled or the files were added in the wrong sequence. | Disable shuffle for a curated sequence and review the playlist order. |
| The scheduled event does not receive the OBS feed. | The encoder may be using the wrong event’s stream key or may not be connected to the scheduled event. | Check the event selected in Live Control Room and use its current stream key in OBS. Keep the key private. |
| The event time confuses viewers. | The announcement omits a time zone or assumes a single festival date applies to all intended viewers. | Verify the relevant observance and state the time zone in the event description and promotion. |
| A video or song raises a rights concern. | Permission for the particular recording or underlying material has not been confirmed. | Verify broadcast rights for every video and audio asset before streaming; do not assume devotional content is automatically cleared. |
