Before building it, clear rights for every recording and composition, confirm any Content ID allowlisting, enable livestreaming, and test the exact setup. EC2 can keep the encoder in the cloud, but you remain responsible for configuring, monitoring, and recovering it.
What the EC2 setup does—and what it does not do
An EC2-hosted encoder reads your prepared media playlist, combines it with any intended visual layer, and sends one continuous contribution feed to YouTube Live. YouTube then handles the livestream on its platform. This differs from an AWS managed live-streaming architecture that encodes, packages, and distributes video to viewers using services such as MediaLive, MediaPackage or MediaStore, and CloudFront. That AWS architecture is not a price or reliability proxy for a single EC2 encoder pushing to YouTube.
The architecture is straightforward in concept, but the implementation depends on your playlist format, visual design, chosen encoder, instance, region, and network behavior. The official YouTube guidance specifies ingestion and format requirements; it does not validate a particular Hindi-playlist command, looping recipe, EC2 size, or 24/7 recovery configuration.
Clear music rights before uploading or scheduling
Hindi-language music does not come with a single rights status. Permissions apply to specific compositions and recordings, and a song may involve separate rights holders for the composition, recording, publishing, and performance. Buying a track or subscribing to a music service does not by itself establish that you may broadcast it continuously.

Audit every track and intended use
For each recording, document the track title, recording owner, composition or publishing owner, permission grant, permitted territories, term, monetization terms, and whether the permission covers a live stream and its archived replay. Check the actual channel and intended use against the license. YouTube’s livestream terms require the provider to have necessary rights worldwide for use on Google services, including music licensing rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants: YouTube livestream terms and conditions.
Confirm Content ID allowlisting
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A rights holder may require your channel to be added to its Content ID allowlist; without that, a licensed track can still trigger an interruption. YouTube says, “If your channel isn’t added to their allowlist, your live stream can be interrupted even if you’ve licensed the third-party content.” Ask each relevant owner whether allowlisting is needed and confirm it is complete before going live. A live stream may also receive a Content ID claim after it ends: YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Use music with terms that fit a continuous broadcast
YouTube identifies public-domain music and music used with permission from the copyright owner as safer options, and points creators to the YouTube Audio Library or Creator Music where applicable. Verify the applicable terms rather than relying on a “free” label in a description: that label alone does not prevent a Content ID match. Enable YouTube Live and create the stream

Sign in to YouTube Studio and open Live Control Room. Create or schedule a live stream using the encoder workflow described in YouTube’s encoder setup guide.

If livestreaming has never been enabled for the channel, allow up to 24 hours for access to become available. Do this well before you plan to announce the stream.

In the stream’s encoder settings, obtain the YouTube ingest server URL and stream key. The encoder needs both to connect. Treat the key like a password: keep it out of public scripts, logs, screenshots, and shared repositories, and put it only in the intended encoder configuration.

Prepare the authorized audio playlist and any visuals on the EC2 host. Decide how the encoder should handle track transitions, silence, and the visual layer, then test those choices with the actual media. YouTube’s setup guide does not prescribe a particular playlist or still-image looping method.
Choose stream settings that match your media and connection
Use YouTube’s current published settings as the compatibility baseline, then test the actual stream. YouTube recommends RTMPS, a secure extension to RTMP. Its listed video codecs are H.264, H.265, and AV1; listed audio codecs are AAC and MP3. It recommends constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval, with keyframes no more than four seconds apart. For stereo audio, its guidance lists 44.1 kHz sample rate and 128 Kbps audio bitrate. Recheck YouTube’s live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions before deployment because platform guidance can change.

Do not select a video bitrate simply because it appears in a table. The right value depends on the stream resolution, frame rate, encoder, and sustained network capacity. The cited YouTube page provides guidance, not a validated setting for your particular host and playlist.
Prepare EC2, then test before making the stream continuous
Choose an EC2 instance, operating system, storage arrangement, and encoder only after considering your media and production needs. The available official guidance does not establish an instance family, size, region, or exact software command for this workload. Likewise, it does not validate a playlist loop, static-image treatment, or restart policy. Treat those as implementation decisions, not guaranteed recipes.
Test the complete path with the intended production

Use a private or otherwise appropriate test stream before publicizing a continuous broadcast.

Test audio and movement representative of the intended production, as YouTube recommends. Listen at track boundaries and inspect the visual feed rather than checking only that the encoder starts.

Watch YouTube’s stream health indicators and warnings while the encoder is running.

Confirm the Content ID allowlist status with rights holders where required, and check whether the stream is interrupted or replaced by a placeholder.

Observe the process for encoder exit, dropped connections, silence, or a stalled feed. Record what happened and how you recovered it.
Plan monitoring and recovery
A process supervisor can restart an exited encoder, but that alone does not prove the stream will recover correctly after a network fault, a YouTube disconnect, an invalid stream key, or a host problem. Monitor both the EC2 process and the stream as received in YouTube. Document who checks alerts, how to restart the encoder, and how to rotate the stream key if it is exposed. Do not describe a setup as reliably 24/7 until its failure and recovery behavior has been tested in that environment.

Understand EC2 costs without confusing them with managed streaming costs
Your EC2 cost depends on the selected instance, region, runtime, storage, and network charges, among other workload details. Those inputs are not established here, so there is no supported monthly EC2 total to quote. Check current AWS pricing for the region and configuration you choose, and account for compute, storage, network transfer, and any additional services separately.
AWS’s Live Streaming on AWS deployment page gives a distinct example: approximately $69.74 for a one-hour SD-540p event with approximately 1,000 viewers in US East (N. Virginia), comprising about $2.50 for encoding and packaging and $67.24 for 791 GB of distribution. This is an AWS managed live-streaming example, not a monthly EC2 encoder estimate and not a forecast for YouTube’s own viewer delivery: AWS Live Streaming on AWS deployment planning. AWS’s CloudFront documentation describes a broader architecture serving viewers from AWS, which solves a different delivery problem from sending one EC2 contribution feed to YouTube: AWS video on demand and live streaming with CloudFront.
Copyright clearance and monetization are separate
Clearing the rights to broadcast tracks does not guarantee that the channel or playlist will qualify for monetization. YouTube applies monetization policies to live streams and reviews channel content for originality and authenticity. On July 15, 2025, YouTube clarified that repetitive or mass-produced material falls under its “inauthentic content” policy. A continuously repeated music playlist may therefore face a separate monetization question even when technical streaming works and music permissions are in order. Review the current YouTube channel monetization policies; no particular channel’s eligibility or revenue outcome can be inferred from the encoder setup.
