You can run a 4K 60fps YouTube Live loop over JioFiber only if the specific connection can sustain the encoder’s upload bitrate while the stream is running. YouTube’s English encoder guidance recommends 35 Mbps video for H.264 at 4K60; it gives a 10–40 Mbps range for AV1 or H.265/HEVC. Those are video bitrates, not guaranteed broadband speeds. Check your plan’s upload rate and test the actual setup before relying on it for a long-running stream.
What you need for 4K60 YouTube Live
The stream has two separate requirements: an encoder that can send a 3840 × 2160 image at 60 frames per second, and a connection that can sustain the outgoing bitrate. A plan’s advertised download speed does not answer the second question. Measure upload from the computer or hardware encoder that will send the stream, at the place and times you expect to use it.
YouTube’s current English guidance recommends these incoming encoder settings for 4K60:
| Setting | YouTube guidance |
|---|---|
| Resolution and frame rate | 3840 × 2160 (4K) at up to 60 fps |
| H.264 video bitrate | 35 Mbps recommended |
| AV1 or H.265/HEVC video bitrate | 10–40 Mbps range; the lower end should not be treated as equivalent picture quality to the H.264 recommendation |
| Rate control | Constant bitrate (CBR) |
| Keyframes | Every 2 seconds recommended; do not exceed 4 seconds |
| Protocol | RTMP or RTMPS; YouTube recommends RTMPS |
| Audio for RTMP/RTMPS | AAC or MP3; 128 Kbps stereo recommended |
| Latency | Normal latency; YouTube says low latency is unavailable for 4K |
These are YouTube’s recommended incoming-stream settings, not a promise that every viewer will receive 4K60. YouTube transcodes live streams into different output formats, and the available playback quality depends on its processing as well as each viewer’s device and connection. See YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance.

Can your JioFiber connection carry it?
There is no universal yes or no based on the provider name. JioFiber plans vary, and the exact upload performance at your home matters. Jio’s official comparison page surfaced one example tier with 30 Mbps upload and 30 Mbps download. That example is below YouTube’s 35 Mbps H.264 video recommendation before accounting for audio or changes in network performance; it does not describe every JioFiber plan. Check the plan offered at your address and measure the connection you will actually stream from. See Jio’s Fiber plan comparison.
YouTube itself recommends testing upload bitrate and testing the stream before going live. A brief speed-test peak does not establish that a connection will hold a demanding upload continuously. The cited guidance does not give a JioFiber-specific minimum upload speed or a universal safety margin, so use a real stream test rather than relying on an invented threshold.

Set up and validate the video loop
- Confirm the plan’s upload speed. Check the upload figure for the exact JioFiber plan at your address; do not infer it from the download headline or from another customer’s plan.
- Measure from the sending device. Run upload checks on the computer or hardware encoder and connection you intend to use. Check at the times the loop will run, and consider whether other household traffic will share the connection.
- Configure the encoder. Set 3840 × 2160 resolution and 60 fps. Choose a codec supported by your encoder and YouTube, and set its video bitrate within YouTube’s current guidance for that codec. Use CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval, and RTMPS where supported. Set audio to AAC or MP3; YouTube recommends 128 Kbps stereo for RTMP/RTMPS.
- Configure repetition in your software. The encoder or playback software must repeat the prerecorded file; YouTube does not automatically loop the source video. The exact control depends on the software you choose, so verify that it repeats the file rather than stopping at its end.
- Run a private test with representative content. Use an unlisted or otherwise nonpublic test with movement and audio similar to the planned loop. Check stream health and encoder messages in YouTube Live Control Room before leaving the stream unattended.
- Adjust if the test is unstable. If upload varies or YouTube reports degraded stream health, reduce bitrate or resolution, improve the connection, or address competing traffic, then test again. Do not treat a successful short test as proof of indefinite stability.
YouTube’s instructions are explicit: “We recommend running a speed test to test your upload bitrate” and “Make sure that you test before you start your live stream.” The recommendation is to test the intended stream, not just the internet plan in the abstract.
Choose RTMPS unless your workflow requires HLS
For a general encoder setup, RTMPS is the simpler default because YouTube recommends it. HLS is a separate ingestion workflow rather than a setting to mix into a standard RTMPS setup. Google’s HLS guide describes M2TS media, H.264 or HEVC video, AAC audio, closed GOPs, and frame rates up to 60 fps. It also notes that lower values in YouTube’s suggested ranges can be used with HEVC to save bandwidth, especially for 4K. Use HLS only if your encoder workflow specifically supports and calls for it; consult Google’s YouTube HLS ingestion guide.

Common problems and what to check
- Stream health degrades or the encoder drops frames: check sustained upload from the sending device, competing network use, and the configured bitrate. Reduce bitrate or resolution and repeat the test if the connection cannot hold the target.
- The plan’s download speed looks high, but the stream struggles: verify upload speed. Download and upload are different measures, and the outgoing video depends on upload.
- The file plays once and then stops: enable repeat or loop in the playback/encoding software and test through the end of the file. YouTube does not repeat a prerecorded source automatically.
- The test works briefly but fails later: a short test does not prove long-duration stability. Test at representative times, monitor Live Control Room health, and investigate shared household traffic or changing upload performance.
- Viewers do not see 4K60: the encoder’s incoming setting does not guarantee that every viewer gets that playback option. YouTube processing and the viewer’s device and connection affect playback quality.
- You expect low latency at 4K: YouTube’s cited guidance says low latency is unavailable for 4K, which uses normal latency.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a continuous prerecorded-video loop rather than a camera broadcast, StreamNeo is an alternative to keeping a local encoder running. Upload the video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home; it supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for YouTube streams, not camera input. Learn more at StreamNeo, or start the free first day.
