Your own gameplay, another player’s recording and official tournament footage are different rights cases. BGMI’s gameplay-video permission is limited and conditional; it is not blanket permission to rebroadcast tournament footage or third-party material. YouTube separately requires the rights needed for livestreaming, and a minimally changed replay loop may not qualify for monetization.
Before you stream: establish rights to every replay
Make a source inventory before building the stream. For each file, record who played and recorded it, whether it is ordinary gameplay or part of an official tournament production, what music and other audio it contains, and who controls any commentary or broadcast elements.
- Your own gameplay recording: BGMI’s terms describe a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable and non-sublicensable right to create and distribute gameplay videos, subject to the terms and platform limitations. Read the current BGMI Terms; this permission does not itself clear separate music or other third-party elements.
- Another player’s recording: Ask the creator or other relevant rights-holder for permission to use the recording in a continuous livestream and any archive. Do not assume BGMI’s gameplay-video permission transfers ownership of someone else’s recording to you.
- Official tournament footage: Do not rebroadcast it without specific written clearance. The official competition rules state that tournament streams and audiovisual recordings are owned by KRAFTON.
- Audio and overlays: Identify music and any separately produced commentary, graphics or other third-party material, and secure the necessary rights for both the live stream and its archive.
YouTube requires the necessary rights for live content, expressly including music rights, and applies its Community Guidelines and relevant local requirements. An encoder, a replay label or permission to use the game does not settle every rights question. See YouTube’s livestream terms.
Use BGMI’s required disclosure
BGMI’s Terms require this disclaimer at the beginning of a video or, during a livestream, near the video in a visible font. Display the wording exactly:

Plan and configure the encoder workflow
YouTube supports creating a livestream with an encoder, but the official material reviewed does not specify a BGMI-specific 24/7 setup or guarantee uninterrupted operation on particular hardware. Choose a workflow around your cleared source files, playback and encoding host, connection and ability to monitor and restart the stream.

- Prepare authorized files. Organize only recordings whose live and archive use you have cleared. Decide how the playlist or loop will work, and how you will keep the required disclosure visible.
- Create the YouTube livestream. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup instructions in YouTube Studio. Use the stream key shown for that broadcast in the encoder; treat it as a credential and do not share or publish it.
- Set up playback and encoding. Configure the encoder to play the authorized recording or playlist and send it to the YouTube stream. Select settings appropriate to the source, encoder and connection; the official source reviewed does not establish a single required bitrate, resolution, keyframe interval or hardware threshold for this use case.
- Test before relying on the stream. Check that playback advances or loops as intended, the disclosure is legible, the stream reaches YouTube, and the audio and picture behave as expected. Confirm that someone can monitor the live control room and respond to warnings or a stopped encoder.
- Plan recovery and archive handling. Decide who will notice an interruption and how the encoder will be restarted. Treat any recovery process as an operational plan, not a guarantee of 24/7 uptime. Review the resulting archive for claims and playback issues.

Watch for live copyright enforcement
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can cause the stream to be replaced with a placeholder, interrupted or terminated. If you have a license for third-party material, the rights-holder may still need to allowlist your channel for Content ID. YouTube says Content ID claims on an archived live stream occur after the stream ends. See YouTube’s live copyright guidance.

- If YouTube issues a warning or interrupts the broadcast, check which material triggered it and resolve the underlying rights issue; simply restarting with the same material may not solve it.
- Keep written permissions and relevant license details accessible so you can verify what you are authorized to use.
- Check the archive after the broadcast; live playback and post-stream Content ID handling are not the same event.
Make the stream meaningfully original
Copyright permission and monetization eligibility are separate. YouTube applies monetization policies to livestreams and expects original, authentic material. Its policy, updated on 15 July 2025 to clarify the term “inauthentic content,” identifies repetitive or mass-produced content as a monetization concern; reused content with little original commentary or value can also put eligibility at risk. A permission to use footage does not guarantee monetization approval. Read YouTube’s channel monetization policy.
Give viewers a reason to watch each replay beyond the fact that it is running: add original commentary, tactical analysis, match context or substantial editing. These additions may make the content more valuable and distinct, but they do not grant rights to footage, music or broadcast elements you do not control.

Troubleshoot common problems
- The stream is interrupted or replaced by a placeholder: YouTube may have detected third-party content. Review the warning, identify the material and resolve the rights issue; check the live copyright guidance.
- A licensed track still triggers a match: Ask the rights-holder whether your channel needs to be added to its Content ID allowlist. A license does not necessarily perform that platform-side step for you.
- The encoder stops or the stream goes offline: Check the playback process, encoder status, network connection and YouTube live control room. Use your planned restart procedure and monitor the next attempt; no particular hardware or uptime outcome is guaranteed by the available setup instructions.
- The archive receives a claim: YouTube says claims on archived livestreams occur after the live stream ends. Review the claim and the relevant rights for the archived material.
- The channel is not accepted for monetization: Rights clearance alone does not establish monetization eligibility. Review whether the channel’s live content is repetitive, mass-produced or reused with too little original value, and consult the monetization policy.
