Outdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down

A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11To run a 24/7 thunderstorm sounds stream on YouTube, prepare audio you have the rights to use, enable and test live streaming, then send a continuous feed to YouTube through an encoder—or use a cloud service that loops uploaded video. The hard parts are keeping the feed available, checking stream health, and avoiding copyright interruptions; a loop by itself does not guarantee monetization.
Choose how the stream will run
A continuous YouTube broadcast needs a source that keeps producing audio and video, plus a connection that sends that feed to YouTube. With a do-it-yourself setup, an encoder runs on a computer and transmits to YouTube. That gives you control, but the computer and its internet connection must remain available. A cloud service is an alternative if you want uploaded material to keep playing without leaving a computer on at home.
YouTube documents encoder-based streaming and stream-health information, but does not specify a universal computer, upload-speed threshold, or 24/7 redundancy design for every setup. Those depend on the encoder settings and your network. Avoid treating any single hardware or bandwidth figure as a platform-wide minimum unless it is tied to current guidance for your exact resolution and configuration.
Prepare your channel before launch
- Enable live streaming and verify the account. YouTube for Artists advises first-time streamers to do this at least 24 hours before the planned stream. Availability can therefore affect your launch schedule. See YouTube for Artists’ live-streaming guidance.
- Create the broadcast in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Set its title, description, visibility, and other details before sharing it with viewers.
- Test end to end using an unlisted stream. Check that the encoder connects, audio is present and clear, the visual is correct, and YouTube reports a healthy connection. YouTube for Artists recommends an unlisted test before launch.
- Keep the stream key private. Add the key to the encoder or service that will send the broadcast. Anyone with access to it may be able to broadcast to your channel; do not put it in public notes, screenshots, or descriptions.
Build and send the continuous feed with an encoder
Prepare the source
Assemble a continuous storm recording or sequence and pair it with a visual, such as a still image or an original, slowly changing scene. Make sure the source itself plays without gaps. If the audio ends before the video—or vice versa—the encoder may send silence, a frozen picture, or a disconnected feed rather than a seamless ambience stream.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For a recurring loop, check the transition between the end and beginning with headphones. Abrupt changes in loudness, a click, silence, or a sudden rain texture shift are especially noticeable on a long ambient broadcast. Keep a local copy of the final source and any project files so you can repair or replace it if needed.
Connect the encoder to YouTube
- In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, create or select the stream and obtain its stream key and ingestion details.
- In an encoder that supports YouTube Live, select the appropriate protocol and enter the ingestion address and stream key. YouTube’s Live Streaming API documentation describes ingestion options including RTMP/RTMPS, HLS, and DASH; which options appear depends on the workflow you use.
- Choose settings supported by both your encoder and the YouTube stream configuration. The YouTube API exposes resolution, frame rate, protocol, and stream health fields, but the cited documentation does not establish a single ideal setting for every thunderstorm stream. Do not assume a particular resolution, frame rate, bitrate, or keyframe interval is universal; use the current encoder and YouTube guidance applicable to your chosen configuration.
- Start the encoder and confirm in Live Control Room that YouTube is receiving the feed and that the preview has both picture and sound. Check stream health for configuration problems, including missing audio or settings that do not match the selected stream.
- Once the unlisted test is clean, stop it, set up the public broadcast, and start the production stream. Verify the public watch page before promoting it.
The encoder is the component that keeps the source playing and sends the feed; YouTube receives it and distributes the live broadcast. If the computer sleeps, the encoder closes, or the local internet connection fails, the outgoing feed can stop. Plan how you will notice and respond to a failure rather than assuming that a long-running stream will repair itself.

Use audio you can legally stream
The lowest-risk source is your own storm recording, or audio licensed explicitly for continuous YouTube live transmission, archived playback, and monetization if you intend to monetize. Keep the recording’s source and license terms. A license to use audio in one context does not necessarily cover a 24/7 live broadcast, saved VODs, or commercial use.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can replace the broadcast with a placeholder and interrupt or terminate the stream. Even when you have a license, the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license alone does not ensure the live feed will continue uninterrupted. You can review YouTube’s explanation of copyright issues with live streams. A broadcast archive may also receive a claim after the live session ends.

Make monetization an outcome, not an assumption
YouTube identifies ads, Supers, and shopping features as possible live-stream monetization routes, subject to channel eligibility and feature availability. These routes do not guarantee approval or earnings. YouTube’s channel monetization policies apply to live streams and expect original, authentic content rather than mass-produced, generic, or repetitive output.
For a thunderstorm channel, consider what is genuinely yours: the field recording, sound design, visual production, or a useful and distinctive viewer experience. Do not assume that minimally altering and repeatedly looping a recording will pass monetization review. Review the applicable policy and eligibility in your channel before relying on revenue.

Troubleshoot common failures
- You cannot start the first live broadcast: live streaming may not yet be enabled or account verification may be incomplete. Complete the channel setup ahead of time; YouTube for Artists advises allowing at least 24 hours before a first stream.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: check that the encoder is running, the ingestion address and stream key are entered correctly, and the selected protocol matches the workflow. If you suspect the key has been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- The preview has no sound: check that the source contains audio, the encoder is capturing the correct audio output, and the stream configuration is compatible. Use YouTube’s stream-health information to identify missing-audio or configuration warnings.
- The video or audio stops unexpectedly: check whether the source file ended, the encoder stopped, the computer slept or restarted, or the internet connection dropped. Restore the source or connection, restart the encoder if needed, and confirm reception in Live Control Room.
- The stream is interrupted by a copyright match: review the notice and identify the matched material. Replace it with audio you own or have the necessary rights to use; if you are licensed, contact the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting for your channel.
- The live session ran but the archive is claimed: live scanning does not remove the need to clear rights for saved playback. Review the claim and confirm that your permissions cover VOD use.
