You can run a continuous Telugu devotional music stream with OBS by looping recordings you have permission to broadcast, connecting OBS to a YouTube encoder stream, and monitoring the broadcast and its connection. First confirm your channel can livestream and that your music rights cover online live streaming; then build a looping scene, test it in YouTube Studio, and plan for the fact that YouTube’s automatic archive documentation covers streams under 12 hours—not a complete archive from one 24-hour broadcast.
Before you start: channel access, recordings and rights
Make sure the channel is ready
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable livestreaming before the day you plan to start. See YouTube’s livestreaming setup guidance.
Use music you are entitled to broadcast
A devotional subject does not by itself make a song or recording free to stream. Use original recordings, recordings licensed for your intended livestream, or other material for which you have the necessary rights. Keep permission records and check whether the rights holder needs to allowlist your channel in Content ID. YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content; a match can replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it or terminate it. A license alone may not prevent interruption if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel. YouTube explains these controls in its copyright guidance for live streams.
Owning a song file or physical copy does not establish streaming rights. The copyright status of a particular Telugu composition, arrangement or recording depends on the specific work and recording; check with the relevant rights holder rather than assuming it is public domain.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Prepare the media and visual
Have the authorized song files on the computer running OBS, or use a prepared playlist. Choose a still image or video that you are also permitted to show. A stable, ordered playlist is easier to verify than a shuffle if you need to know what will play next.
Choose an OBS source: one recording or a playlist
OBS provides two practical ways to make the audio or video repeat. Use Media Source for a single file, or VLC Video for a playlist. The VLC source is available only when VLC is installed. OBS documents these sources in its Media Sources guide.

| OBS source | Best for | Looping and playback | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Media Source | One local recording | Enable Loop to restart the file after it ends. | The media file must be accessible to OBS on the streaming computer. |
| VLC Video | A playlist of recordings | Enable Loop Playlist; shuffle is also available if you want randomized order. | Install VLC for the source to appear in OBS. |
Build a looping scene in OBS
- Create a scene. In OBS, add a scene for the devotional stream. This gives you a defined broadcast layout to check before connecting to YouTube.
- Add the visual. Add an authorized image or video source for the background. Add any text or other overlays as separate sources.
- Add the songs. For one recording, add a Media Source, select the local file and enable Loop. For several recordings, add a VLC Video source, create or select the playlist and enable Loop Playlist. Install VLC first if the VLC source is missing.
- Check source order and sound. In the Sources list, place text and overlays above the background so they remain visible. Play the scene and watch OBS’s audio meters to confirm the selected source is producing sound.
- Save and test the sequence. Let the file reach its end or move through the playlist so you can confirm playback restarts as intended. A looping scene is a playback setup, not an uptime guarantee; keep the computer, OBS and network monitored during the broadcast.
Create the YouTube encoder stream and connect OBS
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create → Go Live.
- Create a new encoder stream or schedule one in Live Control Room. YouTube’s encoder setup guide describes the stream setup and archive behavior.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room into OBS’s stream settings. Use the server URL provided by YouTube rather than guessing an endpoint.
- Keep the stream key private: it functions as the credential that allows an encoder to send video to your stream. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update OBS with the replacement.
- Start the OBS stream and wait for the feed to appear in YouTube’s Live Control Room preview. Check the picture, sound and stream health before treating the broadcast as live for viewers.
Choose output settings and test the real setup
Set OBS resolution and bitrate to what your actual upstream connection can sustain. YouTube recommends RTMPS, CBR bitrate encoding and a two-second keyframe interval; it says the keyframe interval should not exceed four seconds. Its settings page lists 2 Mbps video bitrate for 720p at 30 fps as one option, not a universal best setting. Consult YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions for the current options and requirements for your chosen resolution and frame rate.
YouTube says: “We recommend streaming to YouTube Live with RTMPS, a secure extension to the popular RTMP streaming video protocol.” Use the RTMPS server URL shown for your stream when available.

- Run a short test before the planned broadcast. Use audio and motion similar to the real stream so problems are easier to catch.
- Confirm OBS’s audio meters move and that the correct audio source is selected. Listen to the YouTube preview as well as checking the OBS meters.
- Leave bandwidth headroom. Do not set the video bitrate equal to the entire measured upload speed; other network activity and connection variation can interrupt delivery.
- Check YouTube Live Control Room’s preview and stream-health status before and during the session. OBS’s streaming guide and YouTube’s live-streaming tips cover testing and monitoring.
Plan for a 24/7 schedule and its archive limits
YouTube’s encoder setup guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. It does not establish that one uninterrupted stream longer than 12 hours will produce a complete archive. If a complete recording matters, plan the broadcast and any separate local recording around current YouTube behavior, and verify the resulting archive before relying on it. Do not promise viewers that a single 24-hour broadcast will be saved in full.
OBS and YouTube setup documentation describe how to send and monitor a stream; they do not establish a 24/7 uptime guarantee or automatic OBS crash recovery. For a computer-based setup, test the full chain and keep an eye on OBS, the machine and the internet connection.

Troubleshooting common problems
- Livestreaming is unavailable: verify the channel and check for current livestream restrictions. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours for it to become available.
- VLC Video is missing in OBS: install VLC, then reopen OBS and check the source list again. Use Media Source if you only need to loop a single file.
- The file stops instead of repeating: reopen the source properties and confirm Loop is enabled for Media Source or Loop Playlist for VLC Video.
- YouTube does not receive the OBS feed: check that the server URL and stream key in OBS match the current stream in Live Control Room. Reset an exposed key in YouTube Studio, then replace the old key in OBS.
- The stream is unstable or drops: lower the bitrate to a level the upstream connection can sustain, leave network headroom and test again. Check stream health in Live Control Room rather than relying on the OBS connection indicator alone.
- There is no audio: check that the song source is active, the intended audio device/source is selected and OBS’s audio meters respond. Then listen to the YouTube preview.
- The live stream is interrupted for a music match: review the specific recording’s permissions and any Content ID allowlisting requirements with the rights holder. Religious or devotional content is not exempt from music-rights enforcement.
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is continuous YouTube playback without leaving a computer running at home, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative: upload an authorized recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud; it does not broadcast from a camera. Nothing has to stay on at home, and the stream continues without relying on your home computer or connection. Each slot streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; there are no quality tiers or re-encoding. StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly: $9.99 per month. Upload the authorized media, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Start your free StreamNeo day.
