Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →If you mean Cesbo Astra, restart the enabled stream with Astra’s control API: send POST /control/ with {"cmd":"restart-stream","id":"YOUR_STREAM_ID"}. Then verify Astra’s runtime status and check the YouTube event in Live Control Room. Astra restarting does not by itself prove that YouTube is receiving the feed—or reopen an event that has ended.
Before you restart: confirm which Astra and stream you use
“Astra” can refer to different products. The instructions here apply to Cesbo Astra, whose Streams API documents the restart-stream command. The documentation does not specify a version or deployment, so confirm that this is your product and that its API is available before sending a request.
Find the configured stream ID and verify that it belongs to the YouTube output you need to recover. Astra’s stream information endpoint can list stored stream configurations; use the ID associated with the correct output. The Cesbo Astra Streams API documentation describes the stream methods and control endpoint.
Restart an enabled Cesbo Astra stream
- Send the control request. Use an account with control permission and substitute the actual stream ID for
a001in this example:POST /control/ Content-Type: application/json {"cmd":"restart-stream","id":"a001"} - Read the response. A successful command returns
{"restart-stream":"ok"}. An unknown ID returns an error. - Confirm the stream is running. Use Astra’s separate
check-streamoperation and inspect its runtime status rather than treating the command response as proof that viewers can see the broadcast.
Cesbo’s API documentation says, “An enabled stream is stopped and started again from its stored configuration.” The command does not change the configuration or notify clients. If the stream is disabled, it remains disabled—even if the response is ok. Enable it through your normal Astra configuration or control workflow, then check its runtime status.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Verify Astra’s runtime status and input health
The check-stream operation is a separate check for a running stream. Inspect whether its status is onair, which input is active, and the latest analyzer sample for each input, including bitrate and error counters. These fields help distinguish an Astra process that has restarted from an input that is actually carrying usable media.
If the stream is disabled or not running, Astra’s check can return stream not found. That response is not the same as an unknown stream ID from the restart command; check that the stream is enabled and running, and confirm you are using the correct ID. See Cesbo’s Streams API documentation for the documented API operations.

Check the YouTube encoder connection and event
Confirm the stream URL and key
YouTube’s encoder setup uses a YouTube stream URL and stream key. Check that the encoder configured for the Astra output is sending to the intended URL with the current key. If the key was reset, update the encoder configuration with the new key. Treat the key as a secret: do not share it in screenshots, logs, or support messages unless securely requested.
YouTube explains encoder setup and stream settings in its Help Center. The instructions are general encoder guidance, not a Cesbo-specific integration test.

Check whether the YouTube event is still available
Open the event in YouTube Live Control Room and check its state. YouTube’s auto-start and auto-stop settings determine whether encoder actions can start or stop streaming for that event. Confirm those settings as well as whether the event is still live and accepting an encoder feed.
Astra’s restart command controls the Astra stream; the cited Astra documentation does not say that it reopens a YouTube broadcast event that has already ended. If the event has ended, create or select an available event and configure its encoder connection as needed rather than assuming another Astra restart will reopen it. YouTube’s encoder and stream settings guidance covers the YouTube-side setup.

If Astra says “ok” but YouTube is still offline
Check the two systems independently, then verify the connection settings:
- Astra reports the stream is not on air: check that it is enabled, that you restarted the correct stream ID, and that the runtime check shows an active input.
- Astra is on air, but the input has no usable signal or shows errors: investigate the configured input and its analyzer sample. Restarting the output cannot fix an input or network fault that remains present.
- Astra is carrying media, but YouTube does not receive it: verify the YouTube stream URL and current stream key in the encoder configuration.
- YouTube does not start when the encoder reconnects: check the event state and the auto-start/auto-stop settings in Live Control Room.
- The YouTube event has ended: the Astra restart documentation does not establish that the event can be resumed. Use an available YouTube event and its configured encoder details.
The useful distinction is that Astra’s ok confirms the documented command response, while Astra runtime status and YouTube’s event status answer different questions. Confirm all three layers—command, media path, and event—before calling the broadcast restored.

Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded video looping as a YouTube live stream, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option—not a way to restart a Cesbo Astra broadcast. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It streams the file as uploaded up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account; the monthly option is $9.99 per month.
StreamNeo is for uploaded videos, not live camera feeds, and streams to YouTube. Learn about StreamNeo, or start your free day.
