To put a logo on a YouTube gaming stream, add it to the OBS scene as an Image source, place it above the gameplay or video source in the Sources list, then position and resize it in the preview. This puts the logo into the outgoing stream picture; it does not change your YouTube channel avatar or add a logo to a video that has already been uploaded.
Here, “VOD” means recorded gameplay played as a live broadcast, or a live gaming stream that viewers can replay afterward. OBS can play local video files and playlists beneath the same logo overlay. If you mean an existing YouTube archive, OBS cannot change that finished video; you would need to edit and upload a new version.
How to add a logo overlay in OBS
- Choose the broadcast scene. Open OBS and select the scene that sends the picture you want to YouTube. If you do not have a suitable scene, create one.
- Add the logo image. In the Sources dock, select +, choose Image, and browse to the logo file. A transparent PNG is useful for placing a logo cleanly over gameplay, but it is not required.
- Put the logo above the video. In the Sources list, move the Image source above the game capture, media source, or other video source. OBS source order determines overlap: a source higher in the list appears on top of those below it. See the OBS Sources Guide.
- Position and size it. Select the logo in the preview and drag it to a corner or another clear area. Drag its bounding-box handles to resize it. For more precise placement, use Edit → Transform → Edit Transform.
- Check the composition. Make sure the logo does not obscure a minimap, subtitles, health bars, or other information viewers need. Confirm that this scene is active before you start the broadcast; an overlay in a different scene will not appear in the outgoing picture.
The logo is part of the stream composition, so viewers see it wherever that scene is broadcast. It is separate from your channel avatar and from branding added to a video in an editing program after recording.
Choose what plays beneath the logo
The logo is an Image source either way; choose the video source underneath it based on whether you are capturing a live game or playing recorded footage.

For a single recording, add a Media Source and enable its Loop setting if it should repeat. For multiple recordings, a VLC Video source can play a playlist and loop it when VLC is installed. OBS documents these options in its Media Sources guide.
Will YouTube save the full replay of a continuous stream?
A continuous broadcast and its replay archive are separate outcomes. YouTube Help says a live stream under 12 hours can be automatically archived; it does not promise that every stream of that length will be. For a stream exceeding 12 hours, YouTube warns it may not be captured at all. The page does not state a publication year. See YouTube Help: Archive live streams.

If having a complete replay matters, record a local archive as a backup and check your channel archive after the broadcast. Do not assume that splitting a long broadcast at a particular interval guarantees complete YouTube archives; YouTube’s guidance does not make that guarantee.
