A Premiere is a shared viewing of an uploaded, prerecorded video—not a live broadcast from your camera. Viewers can watch together and interact in chat.
Before you schedule the bhajan
- Have the finished video ready to upload. YouTube does not support Premieres for Shorts, 360 or VR180 videos, or videos with output above 1080p. See YouTube Help: Premiere a new video.
- Choose whether you want the video to start as soon as it finishes processing or at a later date and time. A scheduled watch page gives you time to share the event and invite viewers to set reminders.
- Make sure the recording follows YouTube’s usual content and rights rules. Using Premiere does not itself create a special music-rights requirement; rights for a particular bhajan recording depend on the material and permissions involved.
Upload and set the Premiere
- Sign in to YouTube Studio. Select Create → Upload videos, choose the finished bhajan video, and enter its details.
- For an immediate Premiere, set the video to Public and select Set as instant Premiere. The event begins after processing finishes.
- For a later Premiere, select Schedule, enter the date and time, and check Set as Premiere.
- Choose Set up Premiere if you want to select a countdown theme and length. YouTube’s customization page says the countdown begins two minutes before the Premiere. The countdown is not added to the uploaded bhajan video itself.
- Finish the upload or confirm the schedule. You can also choose the Premiere setting during upload in the YouTube app.
Share the watch page and prepare viewers
Once the public watch page is available, share its link with your audience ahead of the start time. Viewers can visit the page, set a reminder, comment, and participate in chat. YouTube says reminder notifications arrive about 30 minutes before the scheduled start and again when the Premiere begins; see YouTube Help.
For a bhajan release, you might tell viewers when to join and pin a brief welcome or context message in live chat. These are optional ways to make the event feel welcoming, not requirements for publishing the video.
What happens during and after the Premiere
Viewers watch the video together after the countdown. They can rewind, but cannot move ahead of the point currently being shown. Comments and live chat are available during the event.

After it ends, the upload remains on your channel as a regular video, and its view count carries over. Chat replay is available. The countdown theme is separate from the video file.
Optional additions for a larger music release
Add a trailer
A trailer is optional. YouTube Help says trailer availability requires more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. A trailer must be 15 seconds to 3 minutes long, comply with rights and Community Guidelines, and cannot itself have been premiered previously. See YouTube Help.

Connect a separate livestream
You can choose to run a live stream before or after the recorded bhajan Premiere, or use YouTube’s Live Redirect feature to connect a livestream with the Premiere. These are additional programming choices, not prerequisites. YouTube for Artists advises verifying the account at least 24 hours before the first livestream; that preparation applies to livestreaming, not to scheduling the recorded video as a Premiere. If the Premiere will not publish
A Community Guidelines strike can prevent a scheduled Premiere from publishing during the penalty period. If that happens, YouTube says you must reschedule it. Check the channel’s status and the scheduled video before choosing a new event time.
