YouTube’s verified encoder directory includes OBS, cloud services such as Gyre and Upstream, and AJA HELO Plus. A listing means the product is a verified option, not that YouTube made or endorses it.
Check channel eligibility and clear your material
Confirm livestream access
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable access well before the planned broadcast. See YouTube’s encoder livestream setup instructions.
Clear every part of the recording
Do not assume a poem is free to broadcast because it is old, traditional, or posted online. Rights can differ for the text, translation, performer’s interpretation, sound recording, accompanying music, and territories where viewers can access the stream. Obtain the permissions needed for each component and keep records. YouTube’s Terms of Service require creators to have the necessary rights, including applicable music and public-performance rights.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A match can replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. Even with a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. An archived stream may receive a Content ID claim after it ends. See YouTube’s guidance on live-stream copyright. Clearance depends on the exact works and recordings you use; it cannot be inferred for Urdu poetry as a category.
Prepare a watchable Urdu poetry stream
- Assemble the playback material. Use a video recording or pair the audio with a static or designed visual. For a playlist, organize the pieces in the intended order and check that each file plays correctly.
- Make the poetry legible and properly credited. Consider showing the Urdu script, transliteration, poet, translator, and performer. Verify spellings, names, pronunciation, and translations. These are editorial choices, not YouTube requirements.
- Keep the visual subordinate to the voice. Choose calm artwork and readable text that do not obscure the performance. Check levels and listen for clipping, silence, or abrupt changes between recordings.
- Decide how to handle transitions. Listen through the joins between pieces and check the beginning and end of the loop. A playlist that technically repeats can still have distracting gaps, abrupt volume changes, or an unintended black screen.
Set up a continuous stream with OBS
OBS is the do-it-yourself route when you want local control over visuals and audio. YouTube recommends testing the connection and monitoring stream health; OBS menu labels can vary by version, so verify the current interface rather than relying on screenshots from an older release.

- Install OBS and build a scene. Add the media or video source you intend to broadcast, then add artwork, titles, or other visual elements. Configure the source for the looping behavior you need and confirm it continues through the full playlist. OBS’s general site describes its software and capabilities: OBS Studio.
- Create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio. Open Live Control Room, create or schedule an encoder stream, and copy the stream URL and stream key shown there. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not broadcast on your channel.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. Enter the displayed server URL and stream key in OBS’s streaming settings. Use YouTube’s recommended RTMPS workflow where available; RTMPS is the encrypted extension of RTMP.
- Set a sustainable video and audio configuration. YouTube’s current encoder recommendations include H.264 at 720p, 30 fps with 8 Mbps, or 1080p, 30 fps with 14 Mbps. It recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. For stereo audio, YouTube recommends 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps. These are platform recommendations, not guarantees that a particular internet connection can sustain them. Choose a resolution and bitrate your upload connection can hold steadily, then test with the actual material. Details: YouTube encoder settings.
- Start the encoder and inspect the preview. Start streaming from OBS, then check Live Control Room for the incoming signal. Confirm the picture, sound, and stream health before making the broadcast public.
- Test the viewer experience. Check the watch page on a phone as well as your production screen. Verify that the audio is clear, text is readable, the stream is visible, and the playlist advances and loops as intended. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring before and during a broadcast; see its live-streaming tips.
- Keep an eye on the stream. Monitor the encoder and YouTube stream health during the broadcast. A local setup depends on the computer, encoder, and internet connection remaining available.
Plan stream length and archives
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its encoder setup guidance does not guarantee automatic archiving for sessions longer than that. If you need an archive, schedule separate sessions shorter than 12 hours and confirm the current Live Control Room controls rather than assuming a longer continuous broadcast will be saved. Protect monetization eligibility
A continuous loop does not guarantee monetization or higher earnings. YouTube applies its monetization policies to live streams and says monetized content should be original and authentic; repetitive or mass-produced content may be ineligible. Its reused-content policy can apply even if you have permission to use the material, because permission and monetization eligibility are separate questions. The policy says: “What’s important is that the substance of each video should be materially varied and deliver creative, educational, or other value.” Meaningful context, commentary, educational framing, distinct performances, or substantial editorial variation may add viewer value, but no format guarantees approval. Troubleshoot common problems
- You cannot start a livestream: Check channel verification and whether live-streaming restrictions apply within the preceding 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- YouTube receives no encoder signal: Check that the server URL and stream key match the stream currently open in Live Control Room, then confirm OBS is sending. If you replace or reset the key, update the encoder with the new one.
- The stream buffers or loses quality: Check YouTube’s stream-health information and the stability of your upload connection. Lower resolution or bitrate to a setting the connection can sustain, then test again.
- Audio is silent, clipped, or inconsistent: Check source selection and OBS audio meters, then listen to the stream preview. Compare levels between playlist items and confirm the configured stereo sample rate and bitrate.
- The playlist stops or has awkward gaps: Play through the full sequence before launch, including the transition from the last item back to the first. Check the source’s loop behavior and test again after any playlist edits.
- YouTube interrupts the stream for a copyright match: Review the matched material and the relevant permissions. If you are licensed, contact the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting; a license alone may not prevent a live interruption.
- A long broadcast has no archive: YouTube’s stated automatic archive condition covers streams under 12 hours, not longer sessions. Use shorter sessions if the archive is important.
