Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →You can use Hindi music files stored in Google Drive for a 24/7 YouTube stream, but OBS needs the tracks to be available as local files; this guide does not establish a direct Google Drive link-to-OBS workflow. Make the files available to your playback source, play a loop or playlist in OBS, and send its output to YouTube through Live Control Room. Your computer and internet connection must keep running for this do-it-yourself setup, and every track must be cleared for livestreaming.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled, plus a computer and a stable internet connection that can remain on while OBS runs.
- Hindi music files that OBS can access locally. OBS Media Source supports local MP3, AAC, OGG and WAV files; confirm your Google Drive files are actually available to the computer before relying on them for continuous playback.
- Permission to use every recording and composition in a public livestream, including any required Content ID channel allowlisting.
YouTube for Artists recommends verifying the account and enabling live streaming at least 24 hours before the planned broadcast. Check current eligibility and setup in YouTube Studio; account verification and live enablement are separate from preparing the OBS playlist. YouTube for Artists: Going live for music channels.
Get Google Drive files ready for OBS
OBS’s documented Media Source workflow plays local media. It does not establish that a shared Drive URL or arbitrary Drive file link can be used as a reliable, continuously available source. Before scheduling a stream, use Google’s current Drive for desktop options for your operating system to make the audio files available on the computer, then test that OBS can open them. Drive’s exact offline and sync controls can vary, so do not assume a cloud-only file will remain accessible during a long broadcast.
- Confirm each track opens from the location you intend OBS to use.
- Keep the files available throughout the planned broadcast; avoid moving, renaming or deleting them while the playlist is running.
- Test several tracks and transitions before announcing the stream. A file that works once is not proof that a whole playlist will stay available all day.
Build a looping song or playlist in OBS
Loop one local file
- Open OBS and add a Media Source to the scene that will feed the stream.
- Choose the local audio file. OBS documents support for formats including MP3, AAC, OGG and WAV.
- Enable the source’s Loop option so the file repeats when it reaches the end.
- Start playback and check the OBS audio meter. Listen for clipping, silence, or a gap at the loop point before going live.
Loop a playlist
- Install VLC if it is not already installed; OBS’s VLC playlist source requires VLC.
- Add a VLC Video source and add the local audio files to its playlist.
- Enable Loop Playlist. Arrange the tracks in the order you want, or shuffle them if that better suits the station.
- Test the end of one track and the start of the next. Confirm that the playlist continues instead of stopping after one pass.
OBS’s source-specific options and supported formats are described in its Media Sources documentation (dated 2022-01-11). Check the current OBS interface if labels have changed.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and open its Live Control Room. Follow YouTube’s current encoder setup flow to obtain the stream URL and stream key. YouTube documents the process in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- In OBS, open Settings → Stream. Select YouTube as the service, then enter the stream key and server information as required by the current OBS and YouTube setup. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to your channel.
- Start streaming from OBS. Wait for the incoming feed and preview to appear in YouTube Live Control Room; check the picture, audio and status before selecting the control to go live.
- Monitor the broadcast after launch. YouTube’s broadcast workflow includes preview and status monitoring; its developer documentation explains the broadcast states at Life of a Broadcast.
For the exact ingest protocol and current connection details, consult Google’s RTMPS ingestion guide. Do not treat starting OBS as the same action as confirming the broadcast is live to viewers in YouTube Studio.
Clear the music before broadcasting
Having a file in Drive, crediting its creator, or calling it “royalty-free” does not by itself establish that you have livestream rights. Confirm that you have permission for public YouTube livestreaming for each recording and composition, in the relevant territories and for the intended duration. For third-party licensed music, ask the rights owner whether your channel must be added to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content; it may show a placeholder, warn you, interrupt or terminate the stream, or apply a strike. A license alone may not prevent an interruption if the channel is not allowlisted. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and How Content ID works.

Plan for a genuinely continuous stream
With OBS, playback depends on the computer, OBS, the media source and the network continuing to work. A computer sleeping, losing connectivity, or losing access to a Drive-synced file can interrupt the feed. Test your setup for long enough to catch playlist and source problems, and arrange for someone to monitor it if uninterrupted broadcasting matters.

Do not rely on a single 24/7 broadcast as a complete YouTube archive. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all; this is not a guarantee that every shorter stream will archive successfully. If a replay matters, keep a separate local recording and consider planned shorter broadcasts. Review YouTube’s current archive guidance before promising that a replay will be available. DVR behavior is a separate setting and does not guarantee a complete archive; see Turn on DVR on live streams.
Troubleshoot common failures
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| OBS cannot open a track | The source expects a local file, but the file is cloud-only, moved, unavailable, or in an unsupported format. | Confirm the file is present and playable on the computer, then select the correct local file in the source. Test the format against OBS’s Media Sources documentation. |
| The song plays once and stops | Loop is disabled, or the playlist is not set to loop. | For one track, check Loop in Media Source. For a VLC playlist, check Loop Playlist and verify VLC is installed. |
| YouTube does not show an incoming preview | The encoder has not connected with the expected stream URL/key, or the stream has not started. | Compare OBS’s stream settings with the current YouTube encoder details, start OBS streaming, and wait in Live Control Room for the preview and status. Keep the stream key private. |
| The broadcast is interrupted or replaced with a warning | A live copyright match may have been detected, or the connection/feed may have failed. | Check YouTube’s live copyright notice and resolve rights or allowlisting with the owner; separately inspect OBS and network status. Do not assume a license automatically prevents Content ID interruption. |
| The stream ends when the computer is idle or offline | The local encoder or media source stopped running, or the connection was lost. | Check power and sleep settings, network continuity, OBS status and file availability. A local OBS setup requires the computer to remain operational. |
| A 24-hour stream has no complete replay | YouTube may not capture streams longer than 12 hours. | Keep a separate recording if you need an archive; for YouTube replays, plan shorter broadcasts and check current archive behavior. |
