Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →You can loop a prerecorded affirmations video in OBS and send it to YouTube Live, but OBS and YouTube do not guarantee an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast. You need rights-cleared media, an eligible YouTube channel, a stable internet connection, and a plan to notice and restart a dropped stream.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel that is verified and eligible to livestream. YouTube says a channel must have no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days; first-time activation can take up to 24 hours. Check YouTube’s live-streaming access requirements before planning your start time.
- A video or playlist containing affirmations, music, and visuals that you created or have permission to stream worldwide. YouTube’s live-stream terms require you to hold all necessary rights, including relevant music rights. Review YouTube’s terms.
- A computer with OBS Studio, the media files stored locally, and an internet connection with enough tested upload capacity for your chosen stream settings.
- A way to monitor the broadcast and restart it if OBS, the computer, the network, or YouTube interrupts the feed.
Prepare the affirmations video and audio
For the simplest setup, render the narration, background music, and visuals into one finished video file. This reduces the number of sources that can fail while OBS is unattended. You can also use separate OBS sources if you need to adjust visuals or audio independently.
Clear the rights first
Use your own affirmations, narration, music, and artwork, or obtain permission that covers a worldwide livestream. A track being available online or labeled “free” does not by itself establish that you have the rights needed for a YouTube broadcast. Keep licenses or permission records where you can find them.
Make the repetition feel intentional
Check the beginning and end of the file: looping returns viewers from the last frame and sound to the first. Avoid an abrupt jump, a long silent gap, or a sudden volume change at that seam. Listen through the transition before streaming. If your content contains repeated affirmations, make sure the repetition is deliberate and useful rather than relying on a loop to create substance.

Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Set up OBS to loop a file or playlist
- Create a scene. In OBS, use the Scenes panel to add a scene for the affirmations stream. Give it a recognizable name so it is easy to select if you later add other scenes.
- Add a single video file. In the Sources panel, select + → Media Source, create or choose a source, and select the local video file. Enable Loop in the Media Source properties so playback restarts when the file ends. OBS describes this setting as specifying whether the file plays again once playback has completed. See the OBS Media Sources guide.
- Use a playlist if needed. Add a VLC Video Source, select the files for the playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. VLC must be installed for this source to appear in OBS. Test that each file plays and that the playlist returns to its first item.
- Fit the picture to the canvas. Select the source in the preview and use the transform options to fit it to the canvas. Check for black bars, cropped text, or elements hidden outside the frame. Add image or text sources only if they improve the finished presentation.
- Check audio routing. Watch the Audio Mixer while the media plays. In Settings → Audio, select devices manually if the defaults are wrong. For a prerecorded stream, confirm the media source is audible and mute any microphone or desktop-audio input you do not want broadcast. The OBS Quick Start Guide explains the default audio devices and setup.
- Check the loop. Let the file reach its end, or test a short copy, and verify that video and audio restart as intended. Do not assume a source will recover correctly without observing its behavior.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Enable livestreaming in advance. Open YouTube Studio and confirm the channel can go live. If this is your first time enabling livestreams, allow up to 24 hours for activation. Restrictions during the preceding 90 days can affect eligibility. These periods and requirements are stated in YouTube’s live-streaming access guidance.
- Create or schedule the stream. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a livestream. Use the stream’s settings to set its title, description, visibility, and other details.
- Copy the server URL and stream key. In the stream’s encoder setup, copy the server URL and stream key. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance describes where to find these details.
- Enter them in OBS. Open Settings → Stream, choose YouTube as the service if available, and enter the stream key. If you use a custom server option, enter the YouTube server URL as well. Apply the settings and confirm OBS is connected to the intended YouTube account and stream.
- Protect the key. Treat the stream key like a password. Do not show it in screenshots or share it. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube’s live-stream settings and update OBS with the replacement key.
Choose settings your connection can sustain
YouTube’s general encoder recommendations include constant bitrate (CBR), a 2-second keyframe interval (not over 4 seconds), and AAC or MP3 audio. These are platform recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular computer or connection can sustain a stream. See YouTube’s live encoder settings.
- Resolution and frame rate: Choose an output your video, computer, and tested upload connection can maintain. A higher resolution is not automatically better if it causes dropped frames or an unstable feed.
- Bitrate: Use a constant bitrate and select a value appropriate for your output resolution and frame rate. Test the actual OBS output; do not choose a target solely because it appears in a generic settings list.
- Keyframes: Set the keyframe interval to 2 seconds, and do not exceed 4 seconds, in line with YouTube’s guidance.
- Audio: Use AAC or MP3 as the encoder format, and check that the voice is intelligible over any background music without clipping or unintended silence.
- Upload capacity: Test the internet connection and stream quality before going live. Leave headroom rather than using all available upload capacity. YouTube’s live-streaming tips recommend testing the connection and monitoring quality; a wired connection may help if your Wi-Fi is unstable, but it does not guarantee continuity.
YouTube transcodes an incoming stream for viewers on different devices and network conditions. That does not remove the need to send a stable feed from OBS. Use YouTube’s preview and stream-health indicators to assess your specific configuration.

Test, start, and monitor the livestream
- Run a short test first. Confirm the correct scene is selected, the media is playing, the voice and background audio are balanced, and no private notifications or unintended sources are visible.
- Preview in Live Control Room. Check the incoming picture and sound before making the stream public. Follow the current YouTube prompts to start the encoder and begin the livestream.
- Watch stream health. Monitor YouTube’s stream-health status and OBS’s output while the stream is live. Look for dropped frames, audio problems, and interruptions. YouTube recommends continuous monitoring of stream health and audio/video quality in its livestreaming tips.
- Plan for recovery. A 24/7 goal needs someone or something able to notice a failure and restart the encoder or stream. The OBS and YouTube guidance does not promise unattended uptime or automatic recovery for a local OBS setup. If you are away, do not treat the live page as proof that the feed is still healthy.
Understand replays, copyright, and monetization
A 24-hour live stream is not a dependable full replay
YouTube says livestreams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its cited guidance does not promise automatic archiving for longer streams, so do not count on one continuous 24-hour broadcast producing a complete replay. If preserving a replay matters, make a local recording, consider shorter scheduled segments, and check the archive afterward. Confirm YouTube’s current behavior before relying on a particular archive workflow. See YouTube’s livestream archive guidance.
Rights and reused content remain your responsibility
YouTube’s live terms require the necessary rights for the live content, and Partner Program policies apply to livestreams, including copyright and reused-content rules. Repeating prerecorded material does not automatically make a channel eligible for monetization. YouTube decides eligibility under its current policies. Original, valuable affirmations content and documented rights are safer foundations than copied narration, music, or visuals. See YouTube’s channel monetization policies.

Revenue features are not guaranteed
YouTube lists ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and memberships as livestream revenue features where available. Ad slots are not guaranteed to serve, and monetization depends on eligibility and policy compliance. See YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance.
Troubleshoot common OBS and YouTube problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| The stream key is rejected or OBS will not connect | The wrong key or server details were entered, the key was reset, or the channel is not yet enabled for livestreaming. | Confirm the selected stream in YouTube Live Control Room, copy its current server URL and key again, and check channel livestream eligibility. If a key was exposed, reset it before reconnecting. |
| The video plays once and stops | Looping is not enabled on the Media Source, or the playlist loop is off. | Open the source properties and enable Loop for a single file or Loop Playlist for VLC Video. Test the end-to-start transition. |
| The VLC source is missing | VLC is not installed, so OBS cannot offer that source. | Install VLC, restart OBS if needed, then add a VLC Video Source. Use a regular Media Source with its loop option if you only need one file. |
| Viewers hear silence or the wrong sound | The media source is muted, a device is misconfigured, or unintended audio is being captured. | Watch the Audio Mixer during playback, check Settings → Audio, and confirm that only intended sources are audible. Test again in YouTube preview. |
| The image stutters or YouTube reports poor stream health | The selected output may exceed what the computer or upload connection can sustain. | Test upload speed and actual stream quality; reduce the output demand or bitrate as needed and test again. Do not assume a wired connection alone will solve the issue. |
| The broadcast stops while nobody is watching OBS | The computer, OBS, network, or YouTube connection may have failed; local looping does not keep the encoder online through every interruption. | Check OBS and YouTube stream health, restore the connection, and restart the encoder or stream as appropriate. For unattended operation, arrange active monitoring and a recovery process. |
| The 24-hour stream has no complete archive | YouTube’s automatic archive statement covers streams under 12 hours, not a guaranteed full-day replay. | Use a local recording or shorter segments if a replay matters, then verify the resulting archive. |
