For one local clip, add it to your XSplit scene with Add Source > Video File, then inspect the source’s Playback controls. XSplit’s available documentation does not identify a specific loop switch for a single Video File source. For a sequence of clips, use a Video Playlist: XSplit documents continuous playback and looping effects for playlist sources. The regional language is part of the video’s content, not a separate XSplit workflow.
Choose the right XSplit source
| What you want to play | Best starting point | What is documented |
|---|---|---|
| One local clip | Video File | XSplit documents adding a local video source and Playback controls in its source properties. The documentation reviewed does not name a loop control for a single file. XSplit’s Image, Video, and Audio Source guide, updated November 8, 2022. |
| Several clips in sequence | Video Playlist | XSplit describes continuous playback for Video Playlist; its advanced tips describe looping effects for playlist and slideshow sources. Sources Menu – Introduction, updated November 8, 2022; XSplit Broadcaster Advanced Tips, updated September 2, 2022. |
Add and check a single video
- Open the scene where the video should appear.
- Select Add Source > Video File, browse to the video on your computer, and open it.
- Right-click the resulting source and open its media properties. Use the Playback controls to inspect the playback settings available in your installed version. XSplit’s cited guide does not establish an exact label or menu path for a single-file repeat control, so do not assume a particular toggle exists.
- Preview the scene and verify that the clip’s audio is the language you intend to broadcast. XSplit’s generic video-source documentation does not establish automatic language selection, multiple audio-track selection, or subtitle support.
Use a Video Playlist for continuous playback
- In the scene, add a Video Playlist source from the Add Source menu.
- Add the clips you want to play and arrange them in the intended order using the controls shown by your installed version.
- Configure the playlist’s looping or continuous-playback behavior offered in that version. XSplit documents continuous playback and looping effects, but its cited source pages do not provide a complete walkthrough or enumerate every playlist option.
- Preview the full sequence, including the point where it returns to the beginning. Check language audio and transitions before going live.
Send the scene to YouTube Live
- In XSplit Broadcaster, open Broadcast > YouTube and follow the pre-stream flow to connect or select the YouTube destination.
- Review the live-event details and output options in that flow. XSplit’s YouTube guide lists title, description, tags, category, privacy, latency, DVR, backup server, 360 video, and manual transition controls; the exact options shown may depend on the current software and YouTube dialog.
- Confirm the channel’s current livestream eligibility and event settings in YouTube Studio before starting. YouTube’s platform requirements and dialogs can change.
- Preview the scene and audio, then start the broadcast from XSplit. Confirm that the YouTube event is receiving the intended video and sound.
XSplit’s YouTube setup instructions are in Streaming to YouTube Live, updated October 11, 2025.
Captions: verify language support before relying on them
XSplit Broadcaster version 4.6.2605.2109 release notes, published on the support page updated August 12, 2026, describe Live Captions tested with YouTube Live. The instructions say to enable Send Caption in Live Captions and Closed Captions in YouTube’s Live pre-stream dialog. The release notes do not establish support for every regional language, so check the languages available in your installed version rather than assuming the clip’s spoken language will be captioned. See XSplit’s May 2026 release notes.
Troubleshoot common playback problems
- The file does not appear in the scene: confirm that you selected the intended local file through Add Source > Video File, and that the source is present and visible in the scene.
- A single clip stops instead of repeating: inspect the source’s Playback controls in its media properties. The cited documentation does not name a single-file loop switch; if you need documented continuous playback, try a Video Playlist and inspect its available loop behavior.
- A playlist does not continue as expected: verify that the intended clips are in the playlist and that the installed version’s continuous-playback or looping behavior is configured. Preview the transition at the end of the sequence before broadcasting.
- The wrong language is heard: check the media file itself and preview its audio in the scene. The cited XSplit material does not document language-specific track selection.
- YouTube does not receive the broadcast: reopen Broadcast > YouTube, review the destination and pre-stream details, and verify the live event and current channel eligibility in YouTube Studio.
- Captions are absent or incorrect: check both XSplit’s Send Caption setting and YouTube’s Closed Captions option, then verify that the spoken language is supported by the current caption setup.
Copyright and YouTube policy checks
Before broadcasting a regional-language documentary, music program, or other recording, make sure you have the rights or permission needed for both the video and its audio. Language does not change copyright ownership. Also review YouTube’s current livestream and monetization rules for your channel and content: this XSplit setup documentation does not determine whether a particular recording is eligible to stream or monetize.
