The loop setting is documented by AWS, but the exact output protocol and destination configuration must be checked against the MediaLive channel and YouTube’s current ingestion settings before launch.
What you need before configuring MediaLive
- An MP4 devotional video stored in an Amazon S3 bucket or available from an HTTP(S) server, both supported MediaLive file-input sources.
- Permission to stream every part of the recording, including music, lyrics, performances, images, and footage.
- An AWS account with access to Elemental MediaLive, plus a YouTube channel where you can create or manage a live stream.
- A plan for the MediaLive output protocol and destination. Do not assume there is a universal one-click YouTube preset; validate the output against the current endpoint and settings in YouTube Live Control Room.
AWS documents the relevant file-input setting as sourceEndBehavior. Set it to loop the file so MediaLive can stream it indefinitely. See the MediaLive file input documentation and the MediaLive Inputs API reference for current details.
Configure the devotional video loop and YouTube output
1. Prepare and verify the source file
Choose a recording you are authorized to broadcast. Confirm that it plays correctly from beginning to end and that the audio and video are present as intended. Upload it to an S3 bucket or make it available through an HTTP(S) source MediaLive can access. Keep a copy of the final file and note its location for the input setup.
2. Create a MediaLive file input
In the AWS Elemental MediaLive console, create a file input and select the prepared S3 or HTTP(S) source. Configure the file’s end behavior to loop. The exact console labels can vary as AWS updates its interface; verify the resulting input configuration uses the documented loop behavior rather than stopping at end-of-file.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
3. Configure the MediaLive channel output
Create or configure a MediaLive channel using that file input, then set up a live output. AWS documents RTMP output destinations, but the output must still be configured for the current YouTube ingestion details. Confirm protocol, endpoint compatibility, codec settings, and channel configuration in the AWS console and YouTube Live Control Room before deploying. AWS’s input and upstream-system documentation describes supported input types and protocols; consult the current channel and output documentation for the configuration you choose.
4. Create the YouTube Live stream
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room.
- Create a live stream or select one you intend to use, then locate its stream URL and stream key.
- Enter the URL and key in the configured MediaLive output destination. Treat the stream key as a password: do not publish it or share it in screenshots.
- Check YouTube’s incoming preview and stream health before making the stream public or announcing it.
YouTube’s encoder-based workflow uses the stream URL and key. Follow its current instructions in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived; that archive behavior is separate from MediaLive’s file-loop setting.

Choose an ingestion protocol
| Protocol | When it may fit | Requirements and trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| RTMPS/RTMP | Standard encoder ingestion; YouTube recommends RTMPS. | Check that the MediaLive output and destination support the required endpoint and secure protocol. Match YouTube’s current encoder settings. |
| HLS | An alternative when the configured encoder and workflow support YouTube’s HLS ingestion. | YouTube specifies 1–4 second TS segments, a rolling playlist with no more than five outstanding segments, HTTPS POST/PUT, and no encryption other than HTTPS. HLS has higher latency than continuous RTMP ingestion. |
The appropriate choice depends on MediaLive output support, endpoint compatibility, latency tolerance, and operational complexity. The available documentation does not establish HLS as required or preferred for every MediaLive-to-YouTube configuration. See YouTube’s HLS streaming setup and encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions. Use HDR-specific HLS settings only when the source and encoder actually require HDR; a normal SDR devotional recording does not call for them.
Test the stream before relying on it
- Start the MediaLive channel and confirm that the YouTube preview receives video and audio.
- Check YouTube stream health for warnings, missing audio, or incompatible settings before going public.
- Listen for the start and end of the source file and confirm it returns to the beginning as intended.
- Monitor the stream after launch. A successful preview does not remove the need to watch for later encoder, network, or rights-related interruptions.
YouTube recommends testing and monitoring stream health; see its live streaming tips. Match the live encoder’s video and audio to YouTube’s current requirements, including H.264 video and AAC audio for standard configurations.

Copyright, devotional music, and India-specific checks
You are responsible for having the rights needed to stream the content. Devotional subject matter does not make a recording free to broadcast: a song, arrangement, performance, recording, image, or video may be protected independently. Check the permissions for the specific material and the territories where it will be available, including applicable Indian licensing requirements. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions place responsibility for rights on the provider.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can cause the stream to be replaced, interrupted, or terminated. A license alone may not prevent a live interruption if the relevant rights owner has not allowlisted your channel. Review YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and resolve rights or allowlisting issues with the rights holder before broadcasting.

Costs and operational trade-offs
MediaLive charges depend on the configuration and usage, so estimate the intended channel and operating time with AWS’s current MediaLive pricing information rather than relying on a generic 24/7 figure. A continuous cloud channel avoids keeping a local computer running, but still requires correct AWS configuration, monitoring, and cost management. YouTube ingestion, rights clearance, and stream-health checks remain part of operating the broadcast.
Or let it run in the cloud
