This repeats the playlist’s videos in order; it does not restart an ended livestream. The steps vary by device, and “live playlist” can mean either a playlist left playing during an event or a livestream that should send viewers somewhere when it ends.
Loop a playlist on your device
YouTube’s playlist repeat control loops the selected playlist. It is separate from repeating a single video. The interface wording and icons can vary by app version; YouTube’s instructions are available in its playlist playback help.
Computer
- Open a video that belongs to the playlist.
- Expand the playlist panel beside the video.
- Click Loop in the playlist box. The playlist will start again after its last video.
Android
- Start playing the playlist.
- In the playlist controls below the video, tap Loop to repeat the playlist.
- If you want only the current video to repeat, tap the control again to change the repeat mode.
iPhone or iPad
- Play the playlist.
- Use the playlist controls beneath the video and tap the loop control.
The control’s exact label may differ by app language or version.
TV or game console
- Select and play the playlist.
- Bring up the playback controls and choose Repeat until the status reads Repeat • Playlist.
Choose the control that matches what you mean by “live playlist”
| What you want | Use this | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Keep a fixed sequence of videos playing repeatedly | Playlist Loop/Repeat | Restarts the playlist after its last item. |
| Play another video YouTube selects when one ends | Autoplay | Starts another related video; it is not a fixed-sequence playlist loop. |
| Send viewers somewhere when your livestream ends | Live Redirect | Hands viewers off to a selected Premiere or live stream; it does not replay the ended stream. |
Autoplay is not playlist looping
Autoplay selects another related video after the current one ends, rather than reliably repeating your chosen sequence. Its setting can differ by device, and YouTube notes that inactivity time limits may stop Autoplay in some situations. See YouTube’s Autoplay help.

Live Redirect is an end-of-stream handoff
If you are a creator and want viewers to continue to a destination after a live stream, YouTube’s Live Redirect feature can send them to a chosen Premiere or another live stream. YouTube says creators need more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes. Redirecting viewers to another channel requires that channel’s permission. This is a handoff, not a way to make the same stream or playlist loop.
If you are actually producing a livestream
Playlist repetition is a playback control; it does not require livestream equipment or channel setup. To go live, YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-stream restrictions in the past 90 days. YouTube supports mobile, webcam, and encoder streaming; an encoder is an option for production inputs such as overlays, microphones, and cameras, not a prerequisite for looping a playlist. See YouTube’s live-streaming help.

YouTube’s DVR feature lets viewers pause, rewind, and resume a live stream; it is separate from playlist looping. YouTube warns DVR may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. That limit concerns DVR behavior, not whether a playlist can repeat. See YouTube’s DVR help.
For any livestream or rebroadcast, make sure you have the rights to the video and audio you use and follow YouTube’s applicable policies. Playlist repeat does not grant permission to rebroadcast copyrighted material or guarantee monetization; check YouTube’s current copyright guidance and channel monetization policies.
