To make an existing audio or MIDI region repeat in the arrangement, select it and use its Loop control. On web, drag the Loop icon at the region’s upper-right edge to the right. On mobile, tap the Loop icon, choose 4, 8, or 16 repetitions, then confirm. If you want playback or recording to repeat over a timeline section instead, use the Cycle Bar.
Choose what you want to repeat

These are separate controls. Pick Region Loop if the clip should occupy more of the arrangement. Pick Cycle if you want to rehearse, listen to, or record over a selected section.
Loop an existing region
On web
- Open the project in BandLab Studio and select the audio or MIDI region. You can highlight multiple regions across tracks if you want them to loop together.
- Find the Loop icon at the region’s upper-right corner.
- Click and drag the icon to the right to extend the region as a repeating loop.
On mobile
- In Studio, select the region. To select multiple audio or MIDI regions across tracks, long-press and highlight them.
- Tap the Loop icon in the menu.
- Choose 4, 8, or 16 repetitions from the menu at the bottom. To remove the loop, use the disable-loop control.
- Tap the check button to apply the change.
BandLab describes region looping as seamless repeating playback. How a repeated recording sounds in a particular musical context can depend on the source material.
Repeat playback or recording with the Cycle Bar
On web
- Click the Cycle Bar on the timeline ruler.
- Drag its end handle across the section you want to repeat. Use the start and end handles to reposition or resize the cycle.
- When Cycle is enabled, the bar changes from dark red to bright red. Playback or recording then repeats over that selection.
- Toggle Cycle with the Cycle button in the transport bar or press C.
You can also highlight multiple regions, right-click, and choose Set Cycle to Selection.

On mobile
- Tap the Cycle Bar on the timeline ruler.
- Drag its end handle across the section you want to repeat; adjust the start and end handles as needed.
- A bright red Cycle Bar indicates that Cycle is enabled. Tap the Cycle Bar again to turn it off.
Region Loop, Looper, and BandLab Sounds are different tools
BandLab’s Looper is a separate performance feature for triggering samples from pre-made Loop Packs, not the control that repeats a region already in your arrangement. BandLab says Looper is currently available only in its iOS and Android apps. Create a Looper track from the app’s Create page or add one in Studio, browse Loop Packs, add a pack, then tap its colored boxes to play or pause samples. See BandLab’s Looper guide.
BandLab Sounds is the library for adding sample material to a project. On mobile, open Studio, choose a Voice/Audio track, go to Arrange View, tap an empty area and the sample-add icon, then tap the plus icon for the sound. BandLab also documents adding Sounds samples in web and mobile Studio. Adding a library sample introduces material to the project; it does not itself repeat an existing region.
