If you are watching an ASMR playlist, turn off playlist looping and check that repeat-current-video is not enabled. If you run an always-on ASMR live stream, change the order and length of the source rotation in your encoder or playback workflow: YouTube’s viewer repeat control does not change the feed sent by the channel, and YouTube Help does not document a built-in per-video cooldown for live streams.
First, identify which kind of repeat you mean

YouTube’s playback loop controls govern whether a viewer’s video or playlist repeats; they do not rearrange a creator’s outgoing live feed. YouTube Help describes how to loop videos and playlists, and separately explains how an encoder sends a live stream to YouTube.
If you are watching an ASMR playlist
On a computer
- Open the playlist and start playback.
- Find the playlist box beside or below the video.
- Turn off the playlist loop control if you do not want the playlist to start again after its final item.
- If one video keeps repeating while the rest of the playlist should continue, check that repeat-current-video is not selected.

On Android
Open the playlist controls and turn off playlist looping. Android also has a separate single-video repeat state, so check that the current video is not set to repeat if only one title is playing over and over. If you operate the continuous live stream
A creator’s encoder sends a live audio-and-video feed to YouTube using a server URL and stream key. To make an ASMR track recur less often, adjust the source sequence that feeds the encoder: use a longer selection of recordings, arrange them in a rotation, and verify the order in preview before going live. The viewer’s repeat button cannot make this change for everyone watching.
Set up and check the feed
- Confirm the channel is eligible to stream. YouTube’s current guidance says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days; its getting-started guidance also states a minimum age of 16. Check YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming for current requirements.
- In YouTube Live Control Room, create or open the live stream and obtain its server URL and stream key. Enter them in the encoder or streaming workflow that is sending your source sequence. YouTube’s encoder guide explains the connection at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Arrange the recordings in the source playlist or playback workflow. If a particular soundscape should not recur soon, place more material between its appearances; do not assume YouTube has a native setting to impose a delay.
- Check the Live Control Room preview before broadcasting to confirm that the intended recording and sequence are reaching YouTube.
- While live, monitor both audio and video for interruptions, silence, unexpected transitions, or an incorrectly repeated item. YouTube’s guidance is at YouTube live streaming tips.
The YouTube Help pages cited here explain playback looping, encoder setup, stream keys, and stream settings, but do not document a YouTube control that prevents one video from appearing again for a chosen number of minutes or hours. They also do not establish an evidence-based ideal rotation length for ASMR. Choose a sequence that suits your content and verify its actual order in preview rather than relying on an unsupported “best” interval.

Do not confuse stream reuse with content rotation
YouTube’s live-stream settings include stream-key and reuse-related controls, but reusing a stream setup is not the same as changing which recordings appear in the source sequence. Check the current options in YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings; make the rotation change in the workflow that supplies the video and audio.
Copyright and channel-policy checks for ASMR recordings
Before adding recordings to a continuous stream, make sure you have the rights needed to broadcast every sound and visual in them. A recording you can play privately is not automatically cleared for a public live stream. YouTube’s eligibility and live-stream setup guidance should be checked alongside the permissions for the material you use. A long rotation solves repetition, not copyright or other policy problems.
