Eligible U.S. students can get HBO Max Basic with Ads for $5.49 per month for up to 12 months by verifying their enrollment through UNiDAYS, retrieving the offer code, and redeeming it at HBOMax.com/redeem. The offer is for students age 18 or older at accredited U.S. colleges or universities; a college email address by itself does not qualify.
How much is HBO Max for students?
As of October 8, 2026, the official U.S. student offer is $5.49 per month for up to 12 months, described by HBO Max as 50% savings. It applies only to the Basic with Ads monthly plan. See the HBO Max student discount terms for current offer details.

How do I get the HBO Max student discount?
- Sign in to UNiDAYS or create a free account, then verify that you are currently a student.
- Find the HBO Max offer on UNiDAYS.
- Select Get now, then Reveal code.
- Copy the code and go to HBOMax.com/redeem.
- Apply the code. If you are new to HBO Max, complete account setup and enter payment details. If you already have an account, sign in and confirm the plan change.
HBO Max says, “Only the Basic with Ads monthly plan is available through UNiDAYS.” The offer is limited to the United States, and eligible students must be at least 18 and enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university. If you have trouble signing up or verifying your status, contact UNiDAYS support.
Can I get HBO Max with my college email?
Not on the basis of an email address alone. The offer requires current student-status verification through UNiDAYS; the stated eligibility is for students age 18 or older at accredited U.S. colleges or universities. Follow UNiDAYS’ verification process rather than assuming that a school email will establish eligibility.

What to check before redeeming the offer
Check your current subscription first
If you already pay for HBO Max, manage your existing subscription before enrolling through the student offer. HBO Max warns that otherwise you could be billed for two subscriptions. Billing and cancellation steps can depend on the provider through which you subscribed.
Look for access through your school or provider
Some colleges and universities include HBO Max access, and a current subscription provider may also be worth checking. Confirm whether access is already covered before paying for another subscription. HBO Max’s getting-started FAQ also says most subscription providers do not offer free trials to new subscribers.

Know what changes the discount
The offer lasts for up to 12 months, and UNiDAYS verification is required each year to keep the discount. If you switch to another HBO Max plan, the student discount no longer applies once the new plan takes effect.
Check the price and renewal terms in your account
The reviewed offer page does not specify what a student account will pay after the discounted period or whether it renews automatically at that price. Before renewal, check your account and the applicable terms; do not assume the post-offer price from the standard plan list.
