If Streamlabs Cloudbot is silent, first check whether the problem affects the whole bot or just one command, timer, or loyalty payout. Confirm Cloudbot is enabled and has the right platform permissions; then use the feature-specific checks below. For a bot-wide failure, restart Cloudbot and reconnect Streamlabs before rebuilding individual settings.
Start with the connection-wide checks
These checks help distinguish a bot that is disconnected or missing permissions from a problem in one Cloudbot feature. Streamlabs’ Cloudbot troubleshooting guide recommends checking that the bot is enabled, properly modded, and present in the viewer list where the platform provides one.
- Confirm Cloudbot is enabled for the platform where you are streaming.
- Check moderator permissions. On Twitch, type
/mod Streamlabsin your chat. On YouTube, add Streamlabs’ bot channel in YouTube Studio’s community settings. If you use a custom bot name, mod that account instead. - Check whether the bot is visible in the viewer list, if your platform has one.
- Test a simple command. Try a default command or a basic unrestricted
!testcommand. If it responds, the connection is likely working and the problem may be specific to the original command, timer, or payout. - On YouTube, check that the stream is public. Streamlabs says Cloudbot will not join a private stream.
If Cloudbot does not respond anywhere
When no commands or other bot features respond, restart and reconnect before changing individual settings. Streamlabs’ documented troubleshooting sequence is to turn Cloudbot off, wait 2–10 minutes, and turn it back on.
- Turn Cloudbot off and wait 2–10 minutes.
- Turn Cloudbot back on and test a simple command.
- If you recently changed your account name, relog into Streamlabs and re-enable the bot.
- If it is still unresponsive, unmod and then remod the correct bot account.
- Disconnect and reconnect Streamlabs services, then test again.
For a custom-named bot or a browser-source issue, check that the custom bot account is modded. If alerts or related browser-source behavior are involved, Streamlabs also recommends having an Alert Box in every scene in the collection, or launching an Alert Box widget in a browser and muting that browser if you do not want alerts in every scene. Refreshing the browser source cache may help with a relevant browser-source problem. These are conditional checks, not requirements for every Cloudbot setup; Streamlabs cautions against using your personal Twitch username as the bot username.

If only one command fails
If a default command or your test command works, inspect the affected command rather than restarting the entire bot repeatedly.
- Enabled state: make sure the specific command is switched on.
- Trigger text: check that the message uses the exact trigger, including punctuation or spacing.
- Permission level: confirm the person testing it is allowed to use it.
- Cooldown: check the command’s cooldown in Commands settings; it may not be ready to run again.
- Loyalty cost: if the command costs points, verify that the user has enough.
- Variables and parameters: confirm the variable or parameter is supported in that Cloudbot section. Streamlabs notes that some parameters are restricted to particular sections.
If timers do not trigger or collide
Cloudbot timers run in parallel, not one after another. Streamlabs explains that timers with matching intervals can trigger together; intervals that share multiples can also coincide. For example, 10-, 15-, and 20-minute intervals meet at common multiples. If you want posts staggered more often, Streamlabs offers 5, 7, and 11 minutes as an example set that overlaps less frequently—not a universally optimal schedule.

For a timer that stays quiet, check all of its conditions:
- The timer is enabled.
- Its time interval has elapsed.
- Its line minimum has been met. Cloudbot counts chat lines from the previous five minutes.
- On YouTube, the stream is public.
Streamlabs describes this behavior in its guide to Cloudbot timers, queue, and quotes. If timers appear to be competing, choose intervals that are less likely to share multiples and make sure chat is active enough to meet each timer’s line minimum.

If viewers are not receiving loyalty points
Check the loyalty configuration before assuming the bot is disconnected. Confirm loyalty is enabled, the payout interval makes sense for the stream’s length, and the live-user and active-user reward amounts are not set to zero. The interval controls how often points are awarded; Streamlabs says the active-user payout stacks with the live-user payout. See its Cloudbot loyalty points guide for the feature’s setup details.
YouTube has an important limitation: Streamlabs says YouTube does not provide a viewer list for this purpose. Viewers who only watch without chatting cannot receive points through a live-viewer list; active users who type in chat can qualify for the active-user payout when it is configured.

If several Cloudbot features fail at once
When commands and timers fail together despite valid settings, treat it as a possible connection or service issue. Run the connection checks and restart sequence above, then check current Streamlabs notices or contact support. Streamlabs’ September 4, 2025 incident notice described an issue affecting timers, default commands, and custom commands; it was marked resolved, so it is not evidence of a current outage.
If the documented fixes do not resolve the problem, Streamlabs directs users to join its Discord community or submit a support ticket. Its Cloudbot setup guide also points users to Streamlabs support.
