Spotify originally launched the 2023 Wrapped experience on November 29, 2023. The launch experience was available in the updated Spotify app for iPhone and Android and through a web browser. However, as of August 12, 2026, Spotify does not document a guaranteed public archive for reopening every older Wrapped story. That means an absent animated story does not necessarily mean your listening history is gone.
1. Sign in to the original Spotify account
Personalized Wrapped results belong to the account that generated them. Before troubleshooting, check that you are not signed in with a different email address, Apple login, Google login, Facebook login, or Spotify username.

- Open Spotify on your phone or computer.
- Check the account profile and email address.
- Switch accounts if you used more than one Spotify account in 2023.
- Do not assume that a new account connected to the same phone number contains the old account’s history.
2. Update Spotify and search for 2023 Wrapped
Spotify’s original 2023 instructions told listeners to use the latest version of the app. Update Spotify through the iOS App Store or Google Play, then fully close and reopen the app.
Instead of relying on an old Home-screen banner, use Spotify’s search field and try these terms:

The exact location of Wrapped has changed as Spotify has redesigned its Home and Search screens. Searching is therefore more dependable than following instructions that refer to a permanent Wrapped button.
3. Try Spotify.com/Wrapped in a browser
Open Spotify.com/Wrapped and sign in to the original account. Browser access was supported when the 2023 campaign launched, so it is worth trying both the web version and the mobile app.
Several outcomes are possible:

This is usually the most durable way to recover at least part of an old Wrapped. The playlist can show the songs Spotify ranked for you, but it generally will not recreate every part of the original story, including:
- Total listening minutes
- Top genres
- Listening character or personality-style results
- Sound Town
- Highest-listening day
- Worldwide-listener percentile
- Artist video messages
- Animated story cards and other campaign-only slides
Be careful with public playlists titled Top Songs 2023 or Spotify Wrapped 2023. Those may contain Spotify’s global or editorial selections, not your listening history. A personal playlist should be connected to the correct signed-in account and reflect your own ranked songs.
5. Request your Spotify account data
If the playlist is available but the story is not, or if you want statistics rather than only song titles, use Spotify’s official account privacy and data-request process. Request the available account data, download the resulting JSON packages, and look for files or fields labeled for Wrapped.

The export is not a guaranteed replacement for the 2023 interactive experience. Spotify’s wording makes availability dependent on factors such as market and account, and it does not guarantee that every older story will appear in every download.
What to search for in the downloaded files
After extracting the download, use your computer’s file search to look for terms such as wrapped, 2023, top tracks, top artists, and listening time. JSON files can be opened in a web browser or text editor, although a large export may be easier to inspect with a JSON viewer.
If no Wrapped file appears, that does not necessarily indicate an error. The data package may not include the older campaign, or Wrapped data may not be available for your account or market.

Therefore, a redirect to the current campaign, an empty Wrapped page, or the absence of a 2023 banner should not be treated as proof that Spotify has lost your listening data. It may simply mean that the older interactive campaign is no longer being served.
