You can receive Super Chats on a 24/7 gaming music livestream only if your channel qualifies for YouTube fan funding, the feature is available in your location and enabled, and the stream has live chat on. Meeting those conditions does not guarantee purchases or earnings. For a continuous gaming-and-music format, you also need the rights to use both the music and gameplay, and a clear plan to make the stream original rather than a repetitive loop.
What Super Chat pays for—and what it does not
Super Chat lets an eligible viewer pay to highlight a message in live chat. Super Stickers are a separate paid feature that surfaces animated images in chat. Both are ways for viewers to interact with a creator during a livestream, not guaranteed income.
YouTube says creators receive 70% of Supers revenue confirmed by Google. That is YouTube’s stated share of confirmed revenue, not a prediction of what a particular channel will earn per hour, viewer, or stream. Purchases depend on individual viewers and their choices. YouTube also says Supers are not crowdfunding or donation tools; creators should understand the laws that apply to their activity.
How to turn on Super Chat and Super Stickers
- Qualify for YouTube fan funding. Apply for and be accepted into the YouTube Partner Program, be at least 18, and live in a location where the relevant feature is available. Confirm current eligibility in YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility guidance, since availability and requirements can change.
- Accept the commerce terms. In YouTube Studio, accept the applicable Commerce Product Module, or the previously accepted Commerce Product Addendum if that applies to your account. Follow YouTube’s terms and policies.
- Enable the features in Studio. Open YouTube Studio and use the monetization settings to turn on Supers if your channel is eligible. YouTube’s Super Chat management guidance explains the feature and its management; labels and account-specific availability may vary.
- Keep the stream eligible. The livestream needs live chat or comments on. Super Chat and Super Stickers are not available on age-restricted, unlisted, private, Made for Kids, or YouTube Giving fundraiser videos. The creator’s location also affects availability.
- Make chat part of the viewing experience. Where practical, acknowledge paid messages and keep the conversation useful. Supers are an optional way for viewers to connect; do not frame payment as necessary or promise a return.
Can a 24/7 livestream qualify?
A continuous schedule does not by itself make a stream ineligible, but it does not make a channel eligible either. YouTube reviews channels for originality and authenticity, including whether material is repetitive or mass-produced. A static loop or near-identical stream running indefinitely can therefore create a monetization risk. That is a risk to manage, not a blanket YouTube rule that all 24/7 livestreams are prohibited.

Make the stream’s original value apparent: for example, explain what is curated or distinctive about the game footage, music selection, presentation, or community experience. Do not assume that adding a title, overlay, or continuous runtime alone makes reused material original. YouTube’s channel monetization policies describe how it evaluates originality and repetitive content.
Clear music and gameplay rights before going live
YouTube requires the necessary rights to exploit livestream content on its services, including music licensing rights. Its livestream terms put that responsibility on the creator. Having access to a track—or a license for some uses—does not necessarily establish that it may be broadcast continuously on YouTube. A rightsholder may need to allowlist your channel; otherwise, a third-party match can interrupt a live stream. An archived broadcast may also receive a Content ID claim after it ends.

Gameplay rights are a separate check. Whether gameplay can be monetized depends on the game publisher’s commercial-use rights and on the content itself. Review the publisher’s current policy for each game, and check the music rights for every track in the rotation. A game’s soundtrack may have rights distinct from the game footage.
- Keep records of licenses and permissions covering livestream use, territory, duration, and any required attribution.
- Confirm that the license covers continuous or repeated broadcasting, not just personal listening or a one-time video upload.
- Do not treat a successful test broadcast as proof of rights: automated matches, interruptions, and claims can occur later.
- If you cannot verify the necessary rights, remove or replace the material before scheduling a continuous stream.
Other YouTube revenue routes
Super Chat is only one possible revenue feature. YouTube also identifies memberships and livestream ads as possible routes, each with its own eligibility and requirements. These options have different triggers; none provides a reliable yield estimate without channel-specific data.

Troubleshoot missing Supers or interrupted streams
- Super Chat controls are missing: Check YouTube Partner Program and fan-funding eligibility, your age and location requirements, acceptance of the commerce terms, and whether Supers are enabled in Studio.
- Viewers cannot buy Supers: Check that the video is not age-restricted, unlisted, private, Made for Kids, or a YouTube Giving fundraiser, and confirm live chat or comments are on.
- The stream is interrupted or receives a rights notice: Review the music and gameplay rights, including whether a music rightsholder must allowlist the channel. A license that does not cover livestream exploitation may not be sufficient.
- Monetization is limited or rejected for repetitive material: Review the channel as a whole for originality and repetitive or mass-produced content. Continuous scheduling alone does not establish originality.
- Supers are enabled but revenue is low or absent: A feature being available does not cause viewers to purchase. YouTube’s stated share applies to confirmed Supers revenue; it does not establish a minimum or expected amount.
