What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Yes. You can send prerecorded math lessons to YouTube Live in a continuous loop using OBS Studio: create a YouTube stream, add a looping video source or playlist, and leave the encoder running. Before you begin, make the correct audience designation for children’s content, confirm rights to every part of each lesson, and test the stream. A local setup is not a guarantee of uninterrupted service, and YouTube says broadcasts longer than 12 hours may not be captured as replays.
Before you start
- A YouTube channel that is verified and has had no livestream restrictions in the past 90 days. These are prerequisites stated by YouTube’s livestreaming guidance.
- Lesson video files that play correctly, plus OBS Studio installed on a computer that can remain powered on and connected for as long as you want to stream.
- Sufficient upload bandwidth. YouTube recommends having 20% headroom above the total stream bitrate; download speed alone does not establish that your connection can sustain a stream.
- Permission to livestream and archive all included material, including lesson recordings, music, illustrations, slides, and third-party excerpts.
Check the files’ picture and sound before using them. Keep original lesson files somewhere safe; a live broadcast should not be your only copy.
Set up the stream in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room to create a livestream. Choose the encoder workflow so OBS can send the video to YouTube.
- Set the audience accurately. YouTube requires creators to identify whether content is made for kids. Educational content for young children is one consideration, but the label depends on the actual audience and presentation, not simply on whether a video is educational or family-safe. See YouTube’s made-for-kids guidance.
- Copy the stream key from the stream setup. Treat it like a password: do not share or publish it, and reset it if you believe it has been exposed. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance explains connecting an encoder.
Configure OBS to loop a lesson or playlist
Loop one lesson
- In OBS, add a Media Source to the scene you intend to stream.
- Select the lesson video file and enable Loop in the source properties.
- Check that the video fits the canvas and that its audio is audible and at a suitable level. Play through the end of the file to confirm it returns to the beginning as expected.
Loop several lessons
- Prepare a playlist of the lesson files in the order you want them presented.
- Add a VLC Video Source in OBS and select the playlist files.
- Enable Loop Playlist, then preview transitions and audio between files. OBS documents both media-source looping and playlist looping in its media sources documentation.
A single file is simpler to configure; a playlist lets lessons play in sequence. The available documentation confirms the loop functions, but does not establish an ideal educational sequence or schedule.
Connect OBS to YouTube
- In OBS, open Settings → Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter the stream key from YouTube Studio if OBS requests it.
- Set the output resolution, frame rate, and bitrate to values your computer and upload connection can sustain. Keep the total stream bitrate within your available upload capacity, leaving YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom.
- Start the stream from OBS, then check the Live Control Room preview before making the broadcast public. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions cover the connection workflow; exact control labels may vary with software versions.
Test and monitor before relying on a 24/7 broadcast
Run a private or unlisted test first. YouTube recommends setting up in advance, previewing in Live Control Room, checking local archive files, confirming watch-page and mobile playback, and monitoring sound and picture. Keep the encoder and source files accessible, and monitor the stream rather than assuming that a running computer means the broadcast is healthy. A local computer, OBS, power supply, network connection, or source file can fail; the documented workflow does not promise unattended uptime.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Confirm the preview shows the right lesson and that both video and audio are present.
- Open the watch page on the channel and check playback on a mobile device.
- Check upload capacity rather than relying on download speed; leave the recommended 20% headroom over total stream bitrate.
- Keep source files and, where needed, a separate local recording. YouTube warns that a livestream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all, so do not rely on a single 24/7 broadcast to produce a complete replay. See YouTube’s live stream archiving guidance.
Set children’s audience expectations correctly
If a stream is designated made for kids, YouTube restricts features including live chat, comments, notifications, and personalized advertising. Do not design the viewing experience around live chat or assume ordinary personalized-ad availability. A made-for-kids designation also does not by itself guarantee that content will appear in the YouTube Kids app. Review YouTube’s explanation of features affected by made-for-kids content and make the audience choice based on the content and intended audience.
Confirm rights and protect the stream
YouTube’s terms put responsibility for necessary rights on the content provider. They state that providers must have the rights needed to exploit live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights. Check permissions for every element in the stream and any replay, and follow applicable laws and YouTube’s Community Guidelines. The relevant language is in YouTube’s Terms of Service.

Video freezes or the stream disconnects
Check upload capacity and reduce the output bitrate if needed; retain 20% headroom over the total stream bitrate. Network disruption can break the stream, and a local encoder can also stop if the computer or power fails. YouTube’s guidance stresses adequate upload capacity but does not guarantee that any particular connection will avoid interruptions.
The lesson does not repeat
For one file, confirm Loop is enabled on its Media Source. For a playlist, use a VLC Video Source and confirm Loop Playlist is enabled. Preview the transition at the end of the file or list.

Viewers cannot use chat or comments
Check the stream’s audience designation. Features including live chat and comments are restricted for streams designated made for kids.
The broadcast replay is incomplete or missing
A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured as an archive. Preserve source lessons and arrange a separate recording or archive plan if a replay matters; verify YouTube’s current archiving behavior before depending on it.
