You can use FFmpeg to send a Hindi lofi music program to YouTube Live, but a command alone does not make a stream reliably run 24/7. First enable live streaming on your channel, clear the rights for every track, configure an encoder using YouTube’s ingest recommendations, then test and monitor the broadcast. YouTube says first-time live activation can take up to 24 hours, so set it up ahead of launch.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.
- An FFmpeg installation and the media files for your program. YouTube supports software encoders running on a computer; it does not specify a minimum computer configuration in the cited setup guidance.
- A stable connection capable of continuously sending your stream to YouTube. The computer running FFmpeg and its internet connection must remain available for as long as you self-host the broadcast.
- Permission to livestream every audio track and visual element in the program. Owning a file or finding it labeled “free” does not by itself establish permission for a YouTube livestream.
This setup is for sending pre-recorded media as a live program, not broadcasting a live camera. FFmpeg can be configured for media processing and playlists, but the exact command depends on your files and intended transitions. The available YouTube guidance does not establish a verified loop command, gapless transitions, or automatic restart behavior; don’t treat an untested command as a 24/7 reliability solution.
How do I stream music 24/7 on YouTube?
1. Enable live streaming and create a broadcast
- Open YouTube Studio and enable live streaming for your channel. If this is your first live stream, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
- In YouTube Studio, create or select a live stream using the encoder workflow. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream.
- Enter those details in your encoder configuration. Treat the stream key like a password: do not share it, publish it in a script, or expose it in screenshots or logs. If it becomes public, replace it in YouTube Studio.
Follow YouTube’s instructions for creating a live stream with an encoder for the current Studio interface. Keep the stream key private even when you are troubleshooting or asking someone to review your setup.
2. Prepare the Hindi lofi program and clear its rights
Choose the audio and any accompanying visual material before configuring the stream. Check that the rights cover livestreaming, the territories where viewers may watch, the broadcast duration, and commercial use if you intend to monetize. Confirm that permission covers all contributors and rights involved, including the recording and composition where applicable.

YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the creator to hold the necessary rights for live content. YouTube scans livestreams for third-party content; a match can trigger a warning, replace the image with a placeholder, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. If you have a license, ask the rights owner whether your channel must be added to its Content ID allowlist. Details are in YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Creator Music is not a substitute for live-stream permission: its FAQ says it currently does not support licensing for live content. For safer music options, YouTube points creators to public-domain works, music used with permission, original music, the YouTube Audio Library, and third-party libraries whose licenses you verify. A “free” label does not guarantee that a track will avoid a Content ID flag. See the Creator Music FAQ and YouTube’s tips for finding safe music.
3. Configure FFmpeg to match YouTube’s ingest guidance
YouTube’s encoder recommendations are configuration checks, not a guarantee of a successful continuous broadcast. For the current supported formats and bitrate guidance, use YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions page. The key checks are:

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Rate control: CBR (constant bitrate).
- Video codec: H.264, H.265, or AV1.
- Audio codec: AAC or MP3.
- Keyframes: two-second intervals are recommended; do not exceed four seconds.
- Transport: RTMPS is recommended for secure transport.
Choose a resolution and bitrate supported by your source media, available upload bandwidth, and YouTube’s current recommendations. Don’t assume a particular bitrate or resolution is right for every Hindi lofi video. The ingest page lists recommendations by format and resolution; check it rather than relying on a setting copied from a different stream.

Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →The YouTube guidance does not verify an exact FFmpeg command for looping a video or playlist, nor does it establish how to achieve gapless audio, reconnect after a dropped connection, or restart FFmpeg after a process failure. Those details depend on FFmpeg version, input formats, and implementation. Validate any command against your own files and do not claim that it guarantees an uninterrupted 24/7 stream.
4. Start the stream and verify it in YouTube Studio
- Start FFmpeg with the prepared program and the YouTube server URL and stream key configured securely.
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and check that the incoming stream appears and the preview is correct.
- Review stream health while the encoder is running. Test representative audio and motion, not just a still frame or a short silent segment.
- Listen for audio problems and check the stream from a separate viewer device before treating it as ready for an audience.
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish that a single broadcast lasting 12 hours or longer will be archived in full. If replay or archiving matters, plan for that limitation rather than assuming a continuous day-long stream will produce a complete recording.

How do I loop a video or playlist with FFmpeg?
FFmpeg is the software encoder approach for this workflow, but YouTube’s published encoder guidance does not provide a verified playlist-loop command or specify how to make transitions gapless. There is no single command that can be responsibly supplied here as a proven 24/7 Hindi lofi setup: correct inputs and options vary with the files and the desired program, and restart behavior needs its own validation.
Before relying on a loop for a long broadcast, test the exact FFmpeg build and media you intend to use. Confirm that the sequence repeats as expected, audio does not drift or go silent at transitions, video remains valid, the output meets YouTube’s ingest settings, and the process behaves as intended if an input ends or the network connection drops. A successful short test does not establish automatic recovery or guaranteed uptime.

Use the bitrate recommendation for your chosen resolution and frame rate on YouTube’s current encoder settings page. The recommendations are format-specific, so one bitrate should not be presented as the universal setting for every lofi stream. Configure CBR, a supported video codec (H.264, H.265, or AV1), AAC or MP3 audio, and keyframes every two seconds where possible, never more than four seconds. YouTube recommends RTMPS transport.

Leave enough upload capacity for the selected stream and test from the actual connection that will carry the broadcast. Watch YouTube’s stream-health indicators during a representative test. Meeting the published encoder settings does not ensure that a home connection, computer, or FFmpeg process will remain available around the clock.

Copyright match or rights-owner restriction
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A track can prompt a warning or interrupt the broadcast, including when the creator believes the music is licensed. Confirm that the license covers livestreaming and ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting. If you cannot confirm the necessary rights, remove the track rather than restarting with the same unresolved material.
Encoder, network, or input failure
A self-hosted FFmpeg stream depends on the computer, process, source files, and internet connection all continuing to work. Check YouTube Live Control Room’s stream health, then inspect the encoder output and source media for the cause. The official YouTube setup pages cited here do not establish an FFmpeg reconnect command, process supervisor, or automatic restart procedure, so don’t assume a dropped connection will recover by itself.

Incorrect ingest settings or stream details
Compare the running encoder with YouTube’s current recommendations for codec, CBR, keyframes, audio, and secure transport. Verify that the server URL and stream key belong to the intended broadcast, and confirm the key has not been exposed or replaced. Use the Live Control Room preview and health indicators to narrow down whether YouTube is receiving the expected signal.
What does a self-hosted 24/7 stream require?
With FFmpeg on your own computer, the encoder and internet connection have to stay running. A spare or dedicated computer is optional, not a YouTube requirement; YouTube supports software encoders on computers but does not state a minimum hardware specification in its setup guidance. Self-hosting gives you direct control of FFmpeg configuration and media handling, but it also leaves process supervision, reconnect behavior, power, bandwidth, and monitoring to your setup.
Before committing to a long broadcast, decide how you will notice a failure, recover the encoder, protect the stream key, and handle archive needs. Rights and Content ID checks remain your responsibility regardless of where the encoder runs.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you would rather not keep a computer and home connection running, StreamNeo keeps a YouTube stream running from uploaded videos in the cloud. The workflow is three steps: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a camera feed.
- Nothing has to stay on at home; the stream runs in the cloud.
- One flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode or quality tiers.
- Automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free, with no card required (one free day per account).
- Monthly pricing: $9.99 per month.
Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops, and support from the StreamNeo team. The same product is included on every plan; only the billing length changes. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only. For Indian creators, UPI and cards are accepted in India; card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support.
