To connect a YouTube channel to Livepush, open the dashboard for the stream you want to send, choose Add Destination → YouTube, authorize your YouTube account, select a channel or create a live event, then save and enable the destination. If you do not want to link the account, you can instead create a YouTube event and enter its RTMP stream key in Livepush. YouTube says first-time live-stream activation takes at least 24 hours.
Before you connect
- You need a Livepush account and a Google account for the YouTube channel.
- Your YouTube channel must be verified and have live streaming enabled. YouTube says enabling a first live stream takes at least 24 hours after the first request, so a newly enabled channel may not be ready the same day. See YouTube Help: Stream across platforms.
- Choose the relevant Livepush stream dashboard: Live Input or Pre-recorded Live. The YouTube destination is attached to that stream.
Connect YouTube by authorizing your account
- Sign in to Livepush and open the stream dashboard for your Live Input or Pre-recorded Live stream.
- Select Add Destination, then choose YouTube.
- Select Login with YouTube and complete the authorization steps in the Google/YouTube window.
- Choose the channel Livepush presents. To create an event, select New Live Event, then enter its title and description and set its privacy.
- Select Save Destination. Once saved, use the destination’s on/off switch to enable it when you are ready to send the stream.
Livepush says account linking retrieves the event’s RTMP settings automatically. Dashboard wording can change, so use the closest matching labels currently shown in your account. For the vendor’s walkthrough, see How to stream live to YouTube with Livepush.
Connect with a YouTube RTMP stream key instead
Use the manual route if you do not want to authorize your YouTube account in Livepush. This connects the stream using the key for a particular YouTube live event.
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live and create or schedule the live event.
- Copy the event’s RTMP stream key from YouTube Studio.
- In the relevant Livepush stream dashboard, select Add Destination → YouTube → Configure Stream Keys.
- Enter the key, save the destination, and turn it on when ready to send the stream.
Treat the stream key as a credential, not a public link. Livepush says manual setup must be repeated for each YouTube live event, and that YouTube live comments will not appear in Livepush Multi chat with this method. If a key is exposed or stops working, use the current YouTube Studio controls to address it; Livepush’s setup guide does not specify a key-recovery procedure. See Livepush’s manual-connect guide.

Which connection method should you use?

Troubleshoot a missing or inactive YouTube destination
- The channel or event does not appear: Check that you authorized the intended Google account and selected the right channel. If the channel has not streamed before, confirm verification and live-stream eligibility; first-time activation can take at least 24 hours.
- Livepush is not sending to YouTube: Confirm you saved the destination and its switch is on. Saving a destination and enabling it are separate steps.
- The manual stream does not connect: Check that you copied the RTMP key for the exact event you intend to use and entered it in the correct Livepush stream dashboard.
- An account connection was disconnected: Reconnect the YouTube account in the destination settings and save the destination again.
- You are streaming to multiple platforms: YouTube recommends active accounts in good standing, enough upload speed for the combined target bitrates, and monitoring stream health during the broadcast. See YouTube’s guidance.

Can I connect more than one YouTube channel to Livepush?
Livepush’s account-linking overview describes connecting multiple channels. The available channels depend on the Google account and permissions you authorize.
Does a manual YouTube stream key show comments in Livepush Multi chat?
No. Livepush says YouTube live comments in Multi chat are available with linked-account features, not the manual key-only setup.
