Then grant your streaming app microphone access and test that it receives audio from the Yeti before going live. Power and app compatibility can vary, so a physical connection alone does not guarantee a working stream.
Check the connectors before choosing an adapter
Yeti microphones connect by USB. Logitech describes Yeti as a USB microphone intended for streaming and recording, but its setup information does not certify every Yeti generation for use with every iPhone or streaming app (Logitech Yeti).
Identify two things first: whether your iPhone has a Lightning or USB-C port, and whether the Yeti cable’s phone-side connector is USB-A, USB-C, or another connector. The adapter or hub must carry USB data—not just power—and match those ends.
Connect a Yeti to a Lightning iPhone
For a Yeti cable with a USB-A plug
- Connect the Yeti’s USB-A cable to Apple’s Lightning to USB Camera Adapter.
- Plug the adapter into the iPhone’s Lightning port.
- If the iPhone reports that the accessory uses too much power, or does not recognize the microphone, try a powered USB-A hub. Apple also recommends its Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter for this power issue; connect the iPhone’s power adapter to the Lightning port on that adapter (Apple: Use the Apple USB Camera Adapter).
Apple lists audio and MIDI devices among the USB-A accessories that can connect through its camera adapters. That general guidance does not establish that every Yeti model, cable, and app combination will work.

Connect a Yeti to a USB-C iPhone
Apple says microphones can connect to USB-C iPhones, though some accessories need an adapter (Apple: Connect accessories and external devices to iPhone). Match the adapter to the Yeti cable: if it ends in USB-A, use a compatible USB-C-to-USB-A adapter or hub that supports data. If the cable ends in USB-C, check whether it can connect directly or whether the particular microphone setup needs a different cable or adapter.
Apple warns that noncompliant cables or accessories may not work as expected. Its USB-C to Lightning Adapter supports charging, data, and audio with Lightning accessories, but Apple does not certify it as the correct connection for every Yeti generation or USB cable (Apple: USB-C to Lightning Adapter). Connected accessories draw power from the phone, so power availability can also matter.

Enable microphone access and verify the input
- Unlock the iPhone before connecting the microphone if it is not recognized.
- Connect the Yeti through the appropriate adapter, then open the streaming app.
- Allow microphone access if iOS prompts you. To review it later, open Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and enable access for the streaming app (Apple: Control access to hardware features).
- Make a short test recording or private stream. Speak into the Yeti and confirm the app receives its audio before starting a public broadcast.
The exact audio-input behavior depends on the iPhone, Yeti, connection, and app. There is no app-by-app compatibility guarantee here; verify the setup in the specific app you intend to use.
Troubleshoot connection and audio problems
