Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →To stop a recurring MagellanTV charge, first determine who processes your payment. If MagellanTV bills you directly, sign in on the MagellanTV website, open the profile menu in the upper-right corner, and choose the cancellation option. If you subscribed through an app store or another platform, cancel in that platform’s subscription account instead. Check the next renewal date in the same account that handles billing, and cancel before that date. MagellanTV says a normal paid subscription remains available through the end of the current billing period, and amounts already paid are not refunded.
Choose the correct cancellation route first
The payment processor determines both where you cancel and where you find the renewal deadline. A cancellation request made in the wrong account may not change the recurring charge. Use this comparison before opening any settings.
| Who bills you? | Where to cancel | Where to check the renewal date |
|---|---|---|
| MagellanTV directly | MagellanTV’s website account | MagellanTV website account details |
| An app store or other third-party platform | That platform’s subscriptions or billing account | The platform account that displays the MagellanTV subscription |
Look at the receipt, bank or card statement, or the original confirmation email if you are unsure. The name of the merchant or platform on the payment record is a useful clue, but the account that shows the active subscription is the account that controls cancellation. If the name is unclear, use the purchase confirmation and check the subscription list for the platform account you used at sign-up. Do not assume that the app currently installed on your television or phone is the account that handles payment.
Direct MagellanTV billing
A direct subscription is one paid to MagellanTV through its own website. The website account is the place to cancel, view account details, and verify the next renewal period. MagellanTV’s Terms specifically direct subscribers to log in on the site and view account details for the commencement date of that next period.

Third-party billing
If you bought the subscription inside an app or through a platform such as Apple, Google Play, or Roku, that platform processes the payment. MagellanTV’s FAQ says in-app subscribers must cancel through the relevant platform account. Deleting the MagellanTV app, signing out, or deleting a profile does not by itself cancel the platform subscription: those actions do not submit a cancellation request to the account that bills you.
The practical test is where the active recurring subscription appears. If MagellanTV’s website does not show a direct plan, but a platform account lists MagellanTV with a renewal date, use the platform’s cancellation control. If neither account makes the billing route clear, check the original receipt and contact the party that appears to have processed the payment before the displayed renewal deadline.
How to cancel a subscription billed directly by MagellanTV
Use a desktop or mobile browser and sign in to the MagellanTV website account that holds the subscription. The exact button wording can change as the account interface is updated, but the route described in MagellanTV’s FAQ is consistent.
- Open the MagellanTV website and sign in. Use the email address associated with the paid subscription. If you have more than one account, confirm that the account shows the plan for which you are being charged.
- Open the profile icon or account menu. The profile control is in the upper-right area of the site. Select it to reveal account options.
- Choose the cancellation option. The FAQ describes selecting the cancel option from this menu. Read the confirmation screen carefully; interface labels may differ from the wording used in the FAQ.
- Complete every confirmation step. If the site asks you to confirm, give a reason, or acknowledge continued access, finish that screen rather than closing the browser. A page that merely displays an offer to stay subscribed is not proof that cancellation is complete.
- Save the confirmation. Keep the confirmation page or email, along with the date and time. This record gives support a specific reference if another charge appears.
MagellanTV describes the result this way: “Remember, your cancellation will apply to the next billing cycle.” In practical terms, cancellation stops the next automatic renewal rather than ending the already-paid period immediately. If the account presents a confirmation or status after the request, check that it indicates the plan will not renew; do not rely on a closed browser tab or an abandoned cancellation screen.
How to find your next renewal date
For direct subscribers
MagellanTV’s Terms instruct direct subscribers to log in on the website and view their account details to see “the commencement date for your next renewal period.” Look for the date associated with the active plan, not the date you last opened the app or watched a program.
- Sign in to the MagellanTV website.
- Open the profile or account menu.
- Enter the account-details or subscription area.
- Locate the commencement date for the next renewal period.
- Record the date, including the time zone if the account displays one, and compare it with your payment statement.
The account page is the controlling reference for the subscription. MagellanTV’s public Terms page displays an effective date of June 1, 2018, so wording or layout may differ from what you see and account-specific terms may be newer. If the date is absent or ambiguous, contact MagellanTV support before assuming that a cancellation has taken effect.

- Say goodbye to batteries: Keep your remote powered for months on a single charge.
Keep the renewal date distinct from the date your current billing period began. The relevant date is the commencement of the next renewal period, because MagellanTV says cancellation must happen before that date to avoid the next billing. If the page shows an access-through or expiration date after you cancel, that is useful for understanding when the paid access ends, but it is not a substitute for confirming that automatic renewal is disabled.
For app-store or platform subscribers
Sign in to the same platform account that was used to purchase MagellanTV and open its subscriptions, memberships, or recurring-billing section. Select MagellanTV and read the displayed renewal or expiration date. The platform’s date is the relevant deadline because that platform, rather than MagellanTV, submits the payment request.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
If you have several platform accounts, check each one. A subscription can be attached to a different Apple ID, Google account, Roku account, or household profile from the one currently signed in on your device. The original purchase receipt usually identifies the account or platform involved. Once you find the listing, record what it says about the next charge or the end of access; platforms may use different labels for these dates.
Cancel before the deadline that is shown
MagellanTV’s Terms state: “You must cancel your subscription before your next renewal date in order to avoid the next billing.” The current homepage gives the same timing guidance. Do not wait until the date shown on the account, especially if the platform uses a particular time zone or requires confirmation screens.
Illustrative timeline
Suppose the account shows a renewal on October 20. Submit the cancellation on October 19 or earlier, complete the confirmation, and retain the evidence. If you cancel after the renewal has processed, the new billing period may already have begun; the normal no-refund policy then applies.
The example is only a way to understand the deadline. Your account’s displayed renewal date and the billing platform’s terms control the actual cutoff. The safe approach is to act as soon as you decide to cancel rather than waiting for the last day. Allow time to find the account, complete the platform’s confirmation flow, and verify the status.

What counts as successful cancellation
- A confirmation message or email says the subscription will not renew, or the account now shows a canceled status.
- The subscription page displays an end date or access-through date instead of a future automatic renewal.
- The platform account no longer lists MagellanTV as set to renew automatically.
A canceled status is stronger evidence than simply removing a payment card, uninstalling an app, or signing out. Those actions do not necessarily change the subscription contract. Keep the confirmation until the next expected billing date has passed so you can refer to it if a charge occurs. If you cannot tell from the account whether the request went through, ask the relevant billing provider for confirmation before the deadline.
What happens after cancellation
Access normally continues until the period ends
MagellanTV says cancellation takes effect for the next billing cycle. Its Terms and homepage say access remains available through the end of the current billing period. You can therefore continue using the service until the access-through date shown by the account, unless a separate account restriction applies. Continued access does not mean that you have to cancel again; verify the renewal status rather than judging by whether the shows remain available.
Paid amounts are not normally refunded
MagellanTV’s FAQ and Terms state that paid subscription amounts are not refunded. Canceling shortly after a renewal generally prevents a later renewal but does not reverse the period that has already been paid. Do not treat continued access after cancellation as evidence that a refund is pending; it reflects the remaining paid term. Likewise, a cancellation confirmation means the next cycle should not renew; it does not, by itself, indicate that a payment already processed will be returned.
Trials and promotions can have separate terms
The Terms contain separate language for free trials and promotional offers. If your account is still in a trial or uses a promotion, read the offer-specific terms shown for that account. Confirm whether the trial converts to a paid plan, which date ends the offer, and whether the offer imposes a different cancellation or refund rule. Do not assume that the standard paid-subscription treatment answers every trial question. If the terms are not clear, confirm the deadline with MagellanTV or the platform that bills the offer.
Canceling when a third party billed you
When a third party processes payment, MagellanTV cannot replace that platform’s cancellation workflow. Open the platform account—not merely the MagellanTV app—and locate the active subscription.
- Sign in to the platform account used at purchase.
- Open the account’s subscriptions, memberships, or recurring payments page.
- Select MagellanTV and review the next billing or expiration date.
- Choose the platform’s cancel-subscription control and complete its confirmation screens.
- Save the platform confirmation and re-open the subscription page to verify that automatic renewal is disabled.
Menu names and navigation differ among platforms and can change without notice, so follow the labels currently displayed in your account. If the platform shows no MagellanTV subscription, check other account credentials and the original receipt before contacting support. MagellanTV’s guidance is to cancel in the platform account for an in-app subscription; it does not make a cancellation in the MagellanTV account a substitute for the platform’s process.

Common problems and the safest response
You cannot find a cancel button on MagellanTV
- Confirm that you are on the website, not only inside a television or mobile app.
- Check that you signed in with the email address tied to the paid plan.
- Look under the profile icon and account details; the label may not literally say “Cancel subscription.”
- Review the payment record to make sure a platform, rather than MagellanTV, is not the actual biller.
- If the account still does not expose a cancellation route, contact MagellanTV before the renewal deadline and retain the request.
You canceled but the account still shows access
Continued access through the end of the current billing period is expected for a normal paid subscription. Check whether the account shows an access-through date and whether automatic renewal is disabled. Access alone does not mean the cancellation failed.
A charge appears after you thought you canceled
First compare the charge date with the renewal date and identify the merchant that processed it. Then check the cancellation confirmation and the platform account, if applicable. If the cancellation was completed before the deadline but the charge still occurred, provide MagellanTV support with the account email, charge date, renewal date, and confirmation record. Avoid sending full card numbers by email or telephone. If a platform billed you, contact its billing support as well, because it controls the subscription payment and cancellation record.

The renewal date is unclear
Take a screenshot of the account details, compare the date with your receipt, and ask support to confirm which date controls the next charge. For a third-party subscription, ask the platform’s billing support because it owns the renewal schedule. Include the account and plan information needed to locate the listing, but never send a password or full payment-card number.

Include only the information needed to locate the subscription: the account email, the billing route, the date displayed for renewal, and the steps already attempted. Do not disclose a full payment-card number or password.
For a platform-billed subscription, contact the platform as well. MagellanTV can explain its account status, but the platform must process the cancellation when it collected the payment. When writing or calling, be specific about whether you need help locating the renewal date, confirming that a cancellation was completed, or resolving a charge. Keep a copy of any written request and the reply.

A practical cancellation checklist
- Identify whether MagellanTV or a third party bills the subscription.
- Sign in to the account that controls that billing.
- Find and record the next renewal or commencement date.
- Submit cancellation before that date.
- Complete all confirmation screens.

- Keep the record until the next expected billing date has passed.
Key distinctions to remember
The cancellation route, renewal date, access period, and refund result are separate questions. The biller determines the route and deadline. The account’s subscription details provide the date. Cancellation normally stops the next cycle while leaving the current paid period available. MagellanTV does not promise a refund for amounts already paid, and trial or promotional offers may carry different terms. Treat each of these as a separate confirmation step instead of relying on an app uninstall or a missing charge alone.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I cancel a MagellanTV subscription billed directly by MagellanTV?
Sign in to the MagellanTV website, open the profile icon or account menu in the upper-right area, and choose the cancellation option. Complete the confirmation flow and verify that the account indicates the subscription will not renew. Save the confirmation.
How do I check my MagellanTV renewal date?
For direct billing, log in on the MagellanTV website and view your account details; MagellanTV’s Terms say that is where to see the commencement date for the next renewal period. For a subscription billed by Apple, Google Play, Roku, or another platform, check the active subscription in that platform’s account.
Where do I cancel MagellanTV if I subscribed through an app?
Cancel through the account for the platform that bills you, such as its subscriptions or recurring-billing section. MagellanTV says in-app subscribers should cancel through their platform account. Deleting the app or signing out is not a cancellation.

Can I get a refund after canceling MagellanTV?
MagellanTV’s FAQ and Terms state that paid subscription amounts are not refunded. Canceling normally prevents the next renewal rather than reversing a payment for a period that has already begun. Trial and promotional offers may have separate terms, so review the terms tied to your offer.
When should I cancel to avoid the next MagellanTV charge?
Cancel before the next renewal date shown in the account that bills you. MagellanTV’s Terms say cancellation must occur before the next renewal date to avoid the next billing. Allow time to complete confirmation steps and verify the canceled status.
What should I do if I cannot find the cancellation option or renewal date?
First confirm whether MagellanTV or a third party bills the subscription, then check the corresponding account and the original receipt. MagellanTV’s help center lists [email protected] and (1) 914-273-4214. Contact the platform’s billing support for a third-party subscription.
The Bottom Line
Check who bills your MagellanTV subscription, find the renewal date in that biller’s account, and complete cancellation before that date. Direct subscribers use the MagellanTV website; app and platform subscribers cancel through the platform. Keep confirmation: access normally continues until the current paid period ends, and MagellanTV says amounts already paid are not refunded.
