Build the funnel around a public playlist of relevant regular videos, then make that playlist easy to reach from your channel, live-stream messaging, and related uploads. Cards and end screens can link viewers to a playlist; YouTube’s Live Redirect is for a Premiere or another live stream, not a standard uploaded video. For a continuous stream, plan separately for archives: streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured automatically.
Design a clear next step for viewers
A playlist funnel is a simple viewing path: someone finds your 24/7 stream, sees a relevant invitation to continue, and chooses a playlist of regular videos that answers the same interest. Make the destination useful rather than treating every viewer as a generic channel visitor.
- Choose the viewer’s next goal. Group regular videos by topic or purpose—for example, a documentary stream about ancient history might lead to a playlist of full documentaries on a specific era.
- Put the strongest next video near the beginning. Order the playlist so the first few selections are an obvious continuation for someone arriving from the stream.
- Create a descriptive public playlist. Give it a title and description that explain what viewers will find. YouTube supports creating, editing, and reordering playlists: YouTube Help: Create and manage playlists.
- Make the invitation specific. Use a short prompt such as “Continue with our documentaries on space exploration” rather than an unclear instruction to visit the channel.
Keep the stream itself and the regular-video destination distinct. A viewer should understand whether they are continuing the live feed, opening a scheduled event, or choosing an already-published video playlist.
Where to link the playlist
On relevant regular uploads
Add a card to a regular video when the playlist is a natural next step, such as a broader collection connected to the video’s subject. YouTube allows up to five cards on a video; cards can link to a public playlist or public video and are unavailable on videos marked Made for Kids. See YouTube Help: Add cards to videos.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
At the end of regular uploads
Use an end screen to feature a video or playlist. End screens appear in the final 5–20 seconds, and the video must be at least 25 seconds long. Choose an eligible upload and leave enough visual space at the end for the element to be noticeable. YouTube documents end-screen setup and reporting in YouTube Help: Add end screens to videos.
On the channel and in live-chat messaging
Make the playlist easy to find from your channel page, and use an appropriate live-chat message to explain what it offers. A pinned or recurring message should help viewers choose the relevant regular-video destination; avoid implying that the link will automatically move them away from the live stream.

When Live Redirect helps—and when it does not
YouTube Live Redirect can send viewers after a stream ends to a Premiere or another channel’s live stream. It is not documented as a way to redirect viewers directly to an ordinary uploaded video. For an evergreen path to videos that are already published, use public playlist links and cards or end screens instead. A Premiere can serve as a scheduled event-style bridge, but it remains a Premiere.
YouTube lists the sending creator’s Live Redirect eligibility as more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. To redirect to another channel, that channel must allow the redirect. YouTube’s setup instructions place the controls in YouTube Studio in the live video’s customization and redirect settings: YouTube Help: Set up a Live Redirect.

Organize continuous-stream archives and highlights
Do not rely on a 24/7 feed’s automatic archive as the only source for regular videos. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived and warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured. It recommends keeping a local archive backup. YouTube also recommends organizing stream archives and highlight clips into playlists: YouTube Help: Archive live streams.

A continuous live feed and a curated video library serve different viewing needs. The playlist gives viewers a stable route into selected regular videos even when an old stream archive is unavailable.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Use a series playlist only for a genuine series
A series playlist tells YouTube that its videos are an official set intended to be watched together. YouTube says this may affect how the videos are presented or discovered, so do not mark every funnel playlist as a series by default. A verified account is required; each video can appear in only one series playlist, and the creator must have uploaded the videos and have the rights to them. Details are in YouTube Help: Create and manage a series playlist.

Measure whether viewers use the route
Use the metrics attached to the surfaces you actually placed. YouTube Analytics reports end-screen element click rate for individual videos. Playlist Analytics shows data for public playlists that received views in the selected reporting period; see YouTube Help: Check your YouTube Analytics.
- Check the end-screen element click rate on uploads where you added the playlist.
- Review activity for the public playlist over the relevant reporting period.
- Compare which linked videos and playlists receive activity, then adjust placement or wording where the destination is unclear.
These reports indicate activity on the documented surfaces; by themselves, they do not prove that the funnel caused overall channel growth.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you also need to keep the 24/7 YouTube feed running without leaving a computer on at home, StreamNeo keeps uploaded videos live from the cloud. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; videos stream as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo, or start your free first day.
