Start by choosing whether viewers need channel-native rewards or a separate chatbot currency: Twitch Channel Points are channel-specific and available to monetized streamers, while tools such as StreamElements offer their own loyalty points, games, and Twitch giveaways. Add one interaction at a time, set clear costs and rules, and verify poll support for your platform before announcing it.
Choose the points system that fits your stream
“Loyalty points” can refer to two different systems. Twitch Channel Points are built into Twitch; chatbot loyalty points are managed separately by a third-party service. They are not interchangeable, and points in one system do not transfer to the other.

When to use native Twitch points
Choose Channel Points if your rewards are for Twitch viewers and you want the points to belong to the channel’s native system. Twitch describes Channel Points as a customizable program for rewarding community members with perks. Configure the built-in rewards you want to offer, then add custom rewards that your moderators and you can fulfill consistently.
When to use a separate loyalty currency
Choose a chatbot system if you want its own earning rules, point-priced commands or games, a loyalty store, or a point-based giveaway. StreamElements’ guide directs creators to log in, open Loyalty settings, and enable Loyalty; from there, configure earning rates and rewards for the community. Treat its balance as separate from Twitch Channel Points.

When considering a multi-platform bot
Streamlabs’ Cloudbot guide describes linking Twitch, YouTube, or Kick and using loyalty points or chat games. That does not establish feature-by-feature parity across those services. Confirm the specific module is available for the platform where you plan to use it before building your rules around it.
Set up loyalty points and games deliberately
For StreamElements, enable Loyalty in the dashboard, then decide how viewers earn points and what they can do with them. Its optional modules include games and community interactions such as emote bingo, duels, 8ball, emote combos, roulette, slot machine, viewer queues, and vote kick. Check platform availability for each module in the current documentation before enabling it.
Build a simple, understandable economy
- Set an earning pace that makes rewards attainable without making the balance meaningless.
- Give viewers a clear way to check their balance and explain which system the points belong to.
- Set reward costs against the time and effort needed to provide each reward.
- Write down redemption terms, any limits, and what happens if a reward cannot be fulfilled.
- Assign moderators clear responsibilities for answering questions and handling redemptions.
Some chat games use points as wagers. StreamElements describes games such as roulette and slots as using loyalty points, not real-money stakes. Explain the mechanics to viewers and avoid presenting a points game as a real-money game.

Run a StreamElements point-based giveaway on Twitch
The documented StreamElements giveaway flow is for Twitch. It lets viewers spend loyalty points on tickets or enter through a public giveaway page; each ticket has an equal chance. Use the dashboard to create and close the event.

- Open the StreamElements dashboard and go to Loyalty → Giveaways.
- Enter a title and description, choose a prize, and set the ticket price and any ticket limits.
- Start the giveaway. The bot announces it to chat.
- Let viewers enter with
!ticketor!enter, or direct them to the public giveaway page. Viewers can use loyalty points to buy tickets. - Close ticket sales, then draw one or more winners in the dashboard.
Before launching, state who is eligible, how many entries each viewer may make, when entries close, how winners are selected and contacted, and how the prize will be fulfilled. Check current platform rules and local requirements for your promotion; the documentation does not establish a legal conclusion or endorse a specific prize.
Polls are not the same as point-staking contests
Do not assume a chatbot game or contest is an ordinary poll. StreamElements documents contests where viewers select from two or more options and stake loyalty points; the streamer selects the winning outcome, and losing bets fund winners. That is a prediction-style contest, not a non-wagering vote.

For an ordinary poll, verify the current poll feature and its setup steps in the target platform’s official documentation or the chosen chatbot’s current dashboard. The available documentation does not establish a reliable, current poll workflow, so button names and settings should not be guessed.
Choose interactions with moderation and fulfillment in mind
Match the tool to the interaction, not the other way around. Native Channel Points may be enough for custom Twitch rewards. A separate chatbot currency is more appropriate if you specifically want its loyalty features, supported games, or point-based giveaway. A poll should remain a straightforward vote unless you deliberately choose a prediction contest and explain that viewers stake points.
- Rewards: Choose redemptions you can deliver reliably and explain any limits.
- Games: Enable only modules that suit your community, and make clear when points are at stake.
- Giveaways: Set entry and fulfillment terms before opening tickets, and have moderators ready to answer questions.
- Multiple platforms: Confirm module support separately for each platform; a linked account does not prove every feature is available there.
Troubleshooting common setup problems
Viewers cannot find or earn the points
First identify which currency you enabled. Twitch Channel Points are available to monetized streamers and accrue to logged-in viewers watching that specific channel. For StreamElements, check that Loyalty is enabled in its dashboard and that the viewer is using the correct service’s balance.

A game, giveaway, or queue is missing
Modules are optional, and availability is platform-specific. Check the module’s documentation and the current dashboard for the platform connected to the bot; do not assume a feature listed for Twitch is also available on YouTube or Kick.
A giveaway command does not work
Confirm the giveaway has been started in Loyalty → Giveaways, then check that viewers are using the announced entry command, such as !ticket or !enter. If the public giveaway page is enabled, make sure viewers have the correct page. Close sales and draw from the dashboard when entries end.
Viewers think a contest is a poll
Clarify whether the interaction is a non-wagering vote or a prediction contest using points. If viewers stake points on outcomes, describe it as a contest and explain how the winning outcome is chosen.
