How to Add Hindi Product Names and Prices to an OBS YouTube Live Demo Loop

Use an OBS Text source for a fixed Hindi product label or a local HTML page in Browser Source for designed and rotating product cards. Verify Devanagari and test the YouTube preview before going live.

In OBS Studio, add a Text source for a fixed Hindi product name and price, or use a Browser Source to display a designed product card or rotate through cards with a local HTML page. Check the Devanagari text in OBS on the computer you will stream from, then verify the full scene in YouTube Live Control Room before starting.

Choose how to display the product information

Option Best for Updating and layout Timed rotation
OBS Text source A single product name, price, or simple label Enter text in the source properties or read it from a text file. Styling is available, but the source is for text rather than a designed card. The OBS Text source documentation does not establish a built-in rotation feature.
OBS Browser Source with a local HTML file Designed product cards or a sequence of products Control the card layout in HTML and set the browser viewport to fit the OBS scene. HTML page code can implement rotation; test its timing and refresh behavior in OBS.

OBS documents both source types, but does not describe a native timed product-card playlist. A local page that rotates cards is an implementation approach using Browser Source, not a promised OBS feature. See the OBS Text Sources, Browser Source, and Sources Guide documentation.

Add a fixed Hindi name and price with Text Source

  1. In OBS, select the scene for your YouTube demo. In the Sources dock, choose + and add a Text source. OBS supports text entered in the source properties and text read from a file; the exact available label can vary by operating system.
  2. Enter the Hindi product name and price, or point the source to a text file if you want to edit the copy separately. Keep the name, price, and currency as distinct, verified values so they are easy to check before broadcast.
  3. Set the font, size, color, and alignment in the source properties, then position and resize the source on the canvas. Check that the full price and currency remain visible and readable against the video.
  4. Inspect the result at the actual output size. Look closely at vowel marks, conjuncts, punctuation, and line breaks. OBS documentation describes font selection but does not guarantee Devanagari rendering or specify a Hindi font. If characters are missing or malformed, test a Devanagari-capable font installed on that computer, or try a Browser Source layout.

For a file-backed label, edit and save the text file, then confirm the displayed text has updated in OBS before going live. Recheck the price and currency against the offer you intend to show.

Build a product card or rotating sequence with Browser Source

  1. Create a local HTML file with the product card content and design. For a multi-product loop, the page can use its own code to change cards on a timer; OBS’s Browser Source documentation establishes that it can display a local file, not that it has a native slideshow control.
  2. In the OBS Sources dock, choose + and add a Browser source. In its properties, select the local file option and locate the HTML file.
  3. Set the Browser Source width and height to fit the intended scene area. Design the page within that viewport, with legible type and sufficient contrast over the moving video.
  4. Apply the source and inspect the card in the OBS preview at your actual stream resolution. For rotation, wait through multiple changes and check that each card appears for long enough to read. If the page is blank or stale, check the selected file and reload or refresh the source, then preview again.

The Browser Source properties and local-file workflow are described in OBS’s Browser Source documentation. Page-controlled rotation is a practical way to make a sequence, but you must implement and test that behavior in the HTML itself.

Prepare the Hindi copy and verify the finished scene

  • Use the exact product name, current price, and currency you mean to demonstrate. Do not show an offer unless it is accurate.
  • Keep the text concise, with clear separation between name and price. Make sure the content stays on screen long enough to read, particularly when cards rotate.
  • Check Devanagari in the real OBS preview on the streaming computer. A font that works on another device may not be installed locally.
  • Review the complete scene, including the underlying video, overlay position, contrast, and any audio, before broadcast.

Test YouTube before starting the live demo

  1. Set up the YouTube live event and connect OBS using the stream key shown for that event in YouTube Live Control Room. Keep the key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send a stream to the event.
  2. Start the encoder preview and inspect the image in Live Control Room before you begin the event. YouTube recommends checking the preview and testing audio and motion similar to what viewers will see.
  3. Use encoder settings appropriate to your channel and upload connection. YouTube recommends RTMPS, supports H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1, permits up to 60 fps, recommends a two-second keyframe interval, and says not to exceed four seconds. Consult YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance for resolution-specific bitrate recommendations.
  4. Once live, monitor stream health and any messages in Live Control Room. If the preview or stream does not show the overlay correctly, stop and fix the OBS source, then check the preview again.

YouTube’s encoder workflow and pre-stream preview are covered in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder and its streaming tips.

Troubleshoot common overlay problems

What you see What to check Fix
Devanagari glyphs are missing or malformed The font available on the computer running OBS, and how the text looks in the actual preview Try a Devanagari-capable font installed on that system or build the overlay as a Browser Source. Recheck vowel marks, conjuncts, and line breaks; no particular font is guaranteed by the cited OBS documentation.
Text or card is cut off Text source position and size, or the Browser Source viewport dimensions Resize or reposition the source. For HTML, adjust the page layout to fit the Browser Source width and height, then inspect the output-size preview.
The Browser Source is blank or shows an old card The local file selected in source properties and whether the page has refreshed Confirm the correct HTML file is selected and reload or refresh the source. Preview the page again, including its rotation if used.
A product or price disappears too quickly The timer or transition behavior implemented in the HTML page Adjust the page’s timing and test multiple full cycles in OBS so viewers have time to read each card.
The YouTube preview does not match the intended scene The scene currently selected in OBS, source visibility, and the preview after connecting the encoder Correct the scene or source in OBS and repeat the YouTube Live Control Room preview before starting.

Or let it run in the cloud

If the goal is to keep a pre-recorded YouTube stream running continuously rather than operate an OBS demo loop from a computer, StreamNeo runs uploaded videos from the cloud. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploads stream as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. The monthly option is $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
