In OBS, add your looping video as a Media Source, place an Image source above it for the logo, then add a Text source and apply the Scroll filter to make a ticker. Arrange and test the complete scene before streaming to YouTube.
Build the looping video scene
- In OBS, select or create the scene you want to use.
- In the Sources dock, add a Media Source and choose your local video file.
- In the Media Source properties, enable Loop. It is off by default; enabling it makes the file replay after it reaches the end. OBS documents support for formats including MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, GIF and WebM. See the OBS Media Sources guide.
For a continuous broadcast, confirm that the file itself has the picture and sound you intend to repeat. A looped file repeats its ending and beginning; check that transition in the OBS preview so an abrupt cut or audio gap is not a surprise.
Add and place the logo
- In the Sources dock, add an Image source and select the logo file.
- Resize and position it in the preview. Keep it inside the output frame and away from important text or action in the video.
- In the Sources list, place the logo above the Media Source. Higher sources render over lower sources, so order determines whether the logo remains visible. For source ordering and transform basics, see the OBS Sources Guide.
OBS Image sources support common formats including PNG, JPEG, BMP, TGA and GIF. Formats that contain transparency can preserve it, which is useful for a logo without a solid rectangular background. See OBS Image Sources.
Create a moving text ticker
- Add a Text source and enter the ticker wording, or choose the option to read it from a text file if you want to edit the wording outside OBS.
- Choose the text-source variant for your operating system: the OBS guide documents Text (GDI+) for Windows and Text (Freetype 2) for macOS and Linux.
- With the text source selected, open its Filters, add the Scroll filter, and adjust Horizontal Speed. Negative values move the source left; positive values move it right.
- Enable the filter’s Loop option if you want the wording to repeat after it scrolls out of the source bounds. Use Limit Width/Height if you need to constrain the scrolling area to a ticker lane.
The Scroll filter moves a source image in a chosen direction; the text source is what supplies the wording. The OBS guides cover Text Sources and the Scroll Filter.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Compose the frame and choose a ticker method
Put the ticker and logo above the video in the Sources list, then inspect the whole frame in preview at the same output dimensions you plan to stream. Check that the moving text stays in its intended lane, remains readable, and does not cover documentary captions, credits or other important picture details.
| Approach | Best suited to | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Text source plus Scroll filter | Fixed wording and a straightforward ticker setup | Simple to configure in OBS; wording is static unless you edit the source or its text file. |
| Browser Source | A web-based or custom animated layout | Offers more layout flexibility, but OBS warns Browser Sources can be resource intensive. |
A Browser Source can render a local HTML file or a web page; its default custom CSS makes the background transparent. For a logo and a basic fixed ticker, native Image and Text sources are a simpler starting point. See the OBS Browser Source guide.

Test the YouTube stream before relying on it
- Configure OBS’s YouTube connection and stream key in the streaming setup you use. Treat the stream key as private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to your channel.
- Use YouTube’s current encoder guidance for the codec, resolution and frame rate you select. YouTube’s recommendations include RTMP/RTMPS, H.264/H.265/AV1 video options, CBR, frame rates up to 60 fps, and a recommended two-second keyframe frequency that should not exceed four seconds. Its bitrate guidance varies by codec, resolution and frame rate, so use the matching table rather than treating one bitrate as universal.
- Run a representative test with both audio and movement, then check YouTube’s stream health before the real broadcast. A still image alone will not reveal how motion, audio or the ticker behaves during delivery.
Settings and recommendations can change. Check YouTube’s live encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions when configuring a stream. If OBS shows encoding or performance problems, consult the OBS encoding performance troubleshooting guide.
Copyright and documentary footage checks
Before broadcasting, confirm that you have the rights or permission needed for the video, its music, still images and any other material in the loop. Adding a logo or ticker does not itself establish permission to rebroadcast content. YouTube’s live-stream requirements and the effect of reused material depend on the content and circumstances; do not assume that continuous playback or an overlay resolves those issues. Review YouTube’s applicable policies for your channel and use the copyright safety checklist as a practical pre-stream check.
