“Called out” here means a playful acknowledgment, not a criticism. The clearest moment was Travis Kelce’s choreographed surprise cameo at Taylor Swift’s Wembley Stadium show on June 23, 2024. A separate report described an apparent Kelce reference in “Karma” during Swift’s Paris performances.
What happened at Wembley?
Kelce appeared during the theatrical introduction to “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” at Swift’s London show. TIME reported that he wore a tailcoat and top hat, carried Swift to a couch, fanned her, powdered her face, and then waved her on to perform. It was a staged part of the show, not a spontaneous confrontation. TIME’s June 24, 2024 report and The Washington Post’s June 24 account described the appearance as a surprise cameo.
Swift later wrote, as quoted by the Associated Press, “I’m still cracking up/swooning over @killatrav’s Eras Tour debut.” The affectionate reaction fits the playful tone of the scene. The Associated Press reported her post-cameo reaction.
How did Kelce get involved?
Kelce later described how the idea developed during a New Heights discussion. In a July 3, 2024 report, iHeart said he had suggested rolling out on a bike during the “1989” segment; the Wembley appearance instead placed him in the “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” introduction. iHeart’s report on Kelce’s account attributes the idea to his podcast remarks.

Was there also a “Karma” shoutout?
That is a separate reported moment, not part of the Wembley cameo. Vanity Fair reported an apparent reference to Kelce during a Paris performance, noting a “guy on the Chiefs” shoutout in “Karma.” The wording was interpreted as referring to Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, but it should be described as an apparent reference rather than treated as definitively confirmed intent. Vanity Fair’s report covers the Paris performances.
How the two moments differ
| Moment | What was reported | What the evidence supports |
|---|---|---|
| Wembley, June 23, 2024 | Kelce joined the introduction to “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” in costume and helped Swift through the staged scene. | A choreographed onstage cameo, covered by TIME and The Washington Post. |
| Paris “Karma” reference | Vanity Fair reported a “guy on the Chiefs” shoutout. | An apparent lyrical reference to Kelce; its intended target is reported, not definitively established. |
