What did Honnold mean by “embarrassingly small amount”?
In the interview quoted by E!, Honnold said: “Actually, if you put it in the context of mainstream sports, it’s an embarrassingly small amount.” The comparison was about the scale of compensation relative to mainstream sports; it does not establish that Netflix underpaid him or disclose the fee.
What was the Taipei 101 climb?
Netflix presented the ascent as Skyscraper Live, a live event featuring Honnold climbing Taipei 101 without a rope. Netflix’s event listing gives the broadcast time as January 24, 2026, at 1:00 a.m. GMT. Its post-event coverage says Honnold completed the climb and describes the building as 1,667 feet tall.
