Associated Press reporting says a representative for Swift confirmed Kindred Lubeck as the designer. ABC News reports that Kelce designed the ring with Lubeck. Lubeck is a New York-based goldsmith who specializes in hand engraving, according to the Associated Press.
The ring shown in the couple’s engagement announcement has a yellow-gold bezel setting, as described by AP. Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine, identified the diamond as an old mine brilliant cut. The reporting does not establish the metal’s karat, hidden engraving, side stones, or exact band construction. ABC News’ account also identifies Lubeck and Kelce’s role in the design.

What does “old mine brilliant cut” mean?
“Old mine cut” refers to a historic diamond-cutting style, not proof that a particular stone is antique. The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) says the cut was common from the early 18th through the late 19th centuries. It is typically soft and squarish, with a smaller table, larger culet, and higher crown; GIA distinguishes it from the round old European cut. Modern cutters also produce old mine-style stones.
