Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour grossed more than $2 billion in ticket sales, but there is no single figure shared by every source. Pollstar estimated the final gross at $2,201,107,485 in December 2024; Guinness World Records lists $2,077,618,725, citing figures reported to Billboard Boxscore. The gap matters: Pollstar’s number is an estimate, while Guinness attributes its total to a separate reported figure.
What was the Eras Tour’s gross?
Pollstar announced a final estimated gross of $2,201,107,485 on December 13, 2024, after the tour’s final show on December 8. Its release says the estimate combined actual box-office reports with ticket estimates informed by venue capacities, Pollstar’s historical venue ticket-sales data and other research. Pollstar did not publish a complete formula, so this should be described as its estimate, not as an independently audited total. Pollstar’s announcement
Guinness World Records lists a different total: $2,077,618,725, citing figures reported to Billboard Boxscore. Guinness’s listing, consulted in 2026, does not reconcile its figure with Pollstar’s estimate. Both support the conclusion that the tour passed $2 billion; they should not be combined or presented as if they were one settled figure. Guinness World Records’ listing
Why do the published totals differ?
The figures have different stated bases. Pollstar called its total an estimate and explained that it used a mix of box-office reports and modeled ticket estimates. Its year-end analysis also said Swift’s actual ticket-sales figures had not been reported in either of the previous two years. Guinness, by contrast, gives a specific total attributed to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore. The available descriptions do not establish a precise reconciliation between the two totals, so the responsible approach is to name the source whenever quoting either number. What does “nearly double the next biggest tour” mean?
Pollstar’s December 2024 comparison put Coldplay’s still-running Music of the Spheres tour at approximately $1.14 billion. Against that dated snapshot, Pollstar described the Eras Tour’s estimated $2.2 billion gross as nearly twice as high. The comparison is about gross revenue, not tickets sold, and it does not compare two tours measured at the same point in their lifecycles: Coldplay’s tour continued after the Pollstar comparison. Associated Press coverage of Pollstar’s estimate
Pollstar editor-in-chief Andy Gensler said the tour’s “$2.2 billion estimated gross is the highest of all time and nearly doubles the second biggest tour,” as reported by AP. The word estimated is essential to that statement.

How many shows and tickets were involved?
Guinness World Records says the tour ran from March 17, 2023, to December 8, 2024, and played 149 shows. Its listing reports 10,168,008 tickets sold and an average ticket price of $204.33. These are Guinness’s reported tour statistics, not figures that should be inferred from Pollstar’s estimated gross. Guinness World Records’ listing
Gross and ticket count measure different things. A tour can sell more tickets yet earn less at the box office if its average ticket price is lower. Guinness notes that Coldplay sold more tickets, while its Eras Tour record concerns the highest gross by a solo artist; those distinctions make “biggest” dependent on what is being measured. What the $2 billion figure does—and does not—include
The cited headline figures are tour ticket gross figures. They should not be treated as a measure of Swift’s personal earnings, the tour’s profit, or total revenue from merchandise, recordings, streaming, or film. A gross is not the amount an artist takes home after expenses and other allocations.
Other Eras Tour-related sales are separate. For example, the tour book sold 814,000 copies over its Thanksgiving-weekend launch in 2024, according to Circana figures reported by AP. That demonstrates demand for a related product, but it is not part of the ticket-gross calculation. AP report on Eras Tour book sales
