A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11A 24/7 YouTube stream uses about 324 decimal GB of broadcaster upload for every sustained 1 Mbps of combined audio and video bitrate in a 30-day month. At 3 Mbps total, that is about 972 GB; at 6 Mbps, about 1,944 GB (1.94 TB). These are calculated estimates for an uninterrupted month, not a measured account total.
Estimate monthly upload from your stream bitrate
Use the stream’s total outgoing bitrate, in megabits per second (Mbps), and multiply by the number of days in the month:
Monthly decimal GB ≈ total bitrate in Mbps × 324 × days ÷ 30
The 324 factor represents a 30-day month of continuous streaming: 30 × 24 × 60 × 60 seconds. It converts bits to bytes and then to decimal gigabytes (1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes). A 24/7 stream runs for 720 hours in that month.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Total bitrate | 30-day broadcaster upload estimate |
|---|---|
| 1 Mbps | 324 GB (about 302 GiB) |
| 3 Mbps | 972 GB (0.97 TB; about 906 GiB) |
| 6 Mbps | 1,944 GB (1.94 TB; about 1.81 TiB) |
| 10 Mbps | 3,240 GB (3.24 TB; about 3.02 TiB) |
Month length changes the result: each sustained Mbps adds about 302.4 decimal GB over 28 days or 334.8 GB over 31 days. These figures cover the stream’s outbound data only; other internet use, reconnects, and bitrate changes can raise or alter the total.
Find the bitrate that belongs in the calculation
Resolution alone does not determine monthly data use. The encoder’s actual bitrate is the important input, and it varies with codec, resolution, and frame rate. YouTube’s current live encoder settings give these H.264 examples:

| H.264 video setting | Minimum bitrate | Recommended bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| 360p30 | 0.4 Mbps | 4 Mbps |
| 480p30 | 0.4 Mbps | 4 Mbps |
| 720p30 | 3 Mbps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p30 | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
These recommendations span a wide range, so use your configured value rather than selecting a monthly estimate from resolution alone. The YouTube figures above are recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular setting will work well on every connection.
Include audio unless the encoder total already includes it
YouTube lists stereo audio at 128 Kbps (0.128 Mbps) and 5.1 audio at 384 Kbps (0.384 Mbps). If your video bitrate is listed separately, add the audio bitrate before calculating. If the encoder displays a total output bitrate that already includes audio, use that total as-is.

| Example input | Total bitrate used | 30-day estimate |
|---|---|---|
| 0.4 Mbps video + 0.128 Mbps stereo audio | 0.528 Mbps | About 171 GB |
| 3 Mbps total | 3 Mbps | About 972 GB |
| 6 Mbps total | 6 Mbps | About 1,944 GB |
| 14 Mbps video + 0.128 Mbps stereo audio | 14.128 Mbps | About 4,577 GB (4.58 TB) |
All GB and TB values here are decimal. Some operating systems and providers report binary units instead: 1 GiB is 1,073,741,824 bytes, rather than 1,000,000,000 bytes. That is why 324 decimal GB is about 302 GiB.
Check your encoder and plan for data use
- Open your streaming encoder’s output or stream settings. Find the configured video bitrate and note the units. If the interface gives a range or variable target, treat the result as an estimate rather than an exact bill.
- Check whether audio is included. Add the audio bitrate to a video-only figure; do not add it again to a combined output bitrate.
- Calculate for your billing period. Multiply total Mbps by 324 for a 30-day month, or use the day-adjusted formula for a different month length.
- Compare like units with your ISP’s data cap. Confirm whether it reports decimal GB/TB or binary GiB/TiB, then allow headroom for other household traffic and operational variation.
- Test and monitor the stream. YouTube advises testing with audio and movement similar to the planned stream and monitoring stream health. A calculation cannot establish that a particular setup will sustain a 24/7 broadcast.
Broadcaster upload is not viewer data
The estimates above describe the data your streaming connection sends to YouTube. They do not describe how much each viewer downloads. YouTube says it transcodes a live stream into multiple output formats for viewers, so viewer usage depends on the playback rendition, viewing time, and adaptive playback behavior of each person’s connection. See YouTube’s encoder settings guidance and the YouTube Live API documentation for the distinction between the incoming stream and viewer-facing broadcast.

Or let it run in the cloud
If the challenge is keeping a pre-recorded ambient sound stream running continuously, StreamNeo runs an uploaded video as a 24/7 YouTube stream from the cloud. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on; the video streams as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the monthly option is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo’s service does not change the bitrate-to-data calculation for a stream sent from your own encoder.
