About six months after her engagement to Carl Radke ended, Lindsay Hubbard said she had shifted her definition of success: individual achievement and financial independence mattered alongside the possibility of a future relationship, rather than engagement, marriage and children serving as the only measures.
What Hubbard meant by “pivoted”
“When everything happened six months ago, I pivoted,” Hubbard said, as quoted by Bravo in March 2024. She was describing a change in focus after the end of her engagement—not claiming that she had completely moved on or offering a general formula for recovering from a breakup.
In a February 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight, she explained the shift: “I’m pivoting my individual success, so if I’m putting too much pressure on the ‘engagement, marriage, babies’ portion of it, then maybe that’s not what the universe wants for me.”
How the engagement ended
Hubbard and Radke became engaged in August 2022 and planned to marry in November 2023. Their relationship ended in August 2023, before the wedding. The breakup happened after filming for Summer House season eight had wrapped; cameras returned to record their breakup conversation, which aired later in the season, according to Entertainment Tonight’s interview.

By February and March 2024, Hubbard was describing the split as having happened about six months earlier. That timing is the context for her use of “pivoted.”
Her priorities after the split
Individual success and financial independence
Hubbard said she had redirected attention toward her own accomplishments and financial independence. She described feeling stronger when she could stand on her own feet. In her account, success could include building a life independently rather than measuring it only by relationship milestones.

A future relationship was still welcome
That shift did not mean she had ruled out partnership. Hubbard said she hoped for a happy, healthy relationship with someone compatible. Her remarks held both ideas together: she wanted the possibility of love while no longer treating engagement, marriage and children as the sole definition of a successful life. Bravo’s March 8 follow-up also discussed her outlook and relationship priorities.
