Founder-led promotion
Star’s own videos and persona functioned as a marketing channel: he could put products in front of followers through the same creator platform that had built his audience. Collaborations gave the brand ways to reach buyers beyond its own store. In 2019, the company worked with Morphe on brushes and sponges. Star told Out, “I really want to do something at a drugstore price point,” describing the collaboration as a way to offer a different experience. Out reported three Morphe collections over the preceding year; PAPER also covered the collaboration in its account of the brand’s growth: PAPER.
The 2019 Conspiracy Collection with Shane Dawson was another high-profile launch. Time reported that it sold out in minutes and, citing Insider, that the collaborators earned millions. That report illustrates the scale of attention around the launch; it does not establish a precise profit figure for Star or his company.

How the business grew beyond a creator’s storefront
By 2021, reporting described a larger operating infrastructure behind the products. Entertainment Tonight’s tour showed warehouses, cold storage, offices and staff. Glossy reported that Jeffree Star Cosmetics and Killer Merch were still operating from a five-warehouse facility in Chatsworth with 125 employees at the time. These are historical 2021 details, not current facility or staffing figures.
In the same year, Star described Scorpio Logistics in Wyoming as a sister company to the Los Angeles fulfillment operation, serving his merchandise brand as well as local businesses. He also told Out, “I own shipping fulfillment centers and real estate.” These are Star’s descriptions of his business activities and holdings; the available reporting does not establish audited profitability or independently verified asset values for those operations.

- $18 million: Out reported that Forbes estimated Star’s YouTube earnings at $18 million for 2018. This is a historical estimate of YouTube earnings, not his current net worth or the cosmetics company’s profit.
- $15 million: Glossy reported Forbes’ estimate that Star earned $15 million as a YouTuber in 2020. It is an estimate for that year, not an audited disclosure of total income or wealth.
- 400%: Glossy reported Star’s statement that the brand’s lipstick sales increased by 400% in 2021. The report did not specify a comparison period or provide independently audited sales data.
- $1 billion: Glossy reported that Star estimated Jeffree Star Cosmetics was worth $1 billion in 2021. This was the founder’s estimate, not an independent valuation.
PAPER reported that the brand had generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue since its 2014 launch. That is broad reporting, not an audited cumulative total. Revenue, earnings, profit and valuation are different measures: a revenue claim does not reveal how much profit a company made, and an estimate of company value is not a statement of the founder’s personal wealth.
