Heidi Klum backed Richard Goodall from his first performance on America’s Got Talent through his Season 19 win: she praised his audition, pressed her Golden Buzzer, and ran onstage to congratulate him after the winner was announced.
Why Heidi Klum gave Richard Goodall the Golden Buzzer
Goodall, a school janitor from Terre Haute, Indiana, auditioned with Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Klum praised the performance and chose him for her Golden Buzzer, advancing him in the competition. Entertainment Tonight reported on the audition and Golden Buzzer on May 28, 2024.
How Richard Goodall’s Season 19 story ended
Goodall reached the Season 19 finale and won the competition. The Los Angeles Times reported that his win came with the show’s $1-million prize and a new car. In the finale, he performed “Don’t Stop Believin’” with Journey co-founder Neal Schon and band members.
How Klum congratulated the winner
After the result, Klum ran onstage to congratulate Goodall. Recalling what she told him, she said, “I told him I loved him and that he was so deserving,” TV Insider reported.
