People who encountered it reacted with surprise—some initially believed it—while others joked, made memes, compared him with other celebrities or said they liked the look.
Was the Pitbull-with-hair photo real?
No. El País Cali reported on November 10, 2021, that the circulating image was a montage made with a TikTok filter, not a real change in Pitbull’s appearance. El País Cali’s report described the image spreading alongside videos, memes and comments.
How did fans react?
Coverage described a mix of surprise and humor. Some viewers reportedly believed the image at first; others turned the look into jokes and memes, including edits imagining hair on other bald celebrities. Comments quoted by SDP Noticias included “Ojalá sea real, sería guapísimo” (“I hope it’s real; he’d be very handsome”) and “Siempre pensé que Pitbull no era feo, sino calvo” (“I always thought Pitbull wasn’t ugly, just bald”). The outlet also noted comparisons with Zac Efron, Keanu Reeves and Juanes. These are examples of reactions, not the result of a representative fan survey. 20minutos’ November 12, 2021 report covered the edit’s spread and the response; SDP Noticias’ coverage recorded the comments and comparisons.
How widely did the 2021 edit circulate?
20minutos reported in November 2021 that the video had more than seven million views and over 36,000 comments. Those are figures the outlet reported at the time, not independently audited analytics or current totals. The same report said the edit had first appeared in 2020 before resurfacing on Twitter in November 2021.

How the 2021 image differs from later Pitbull-with-hair trends
Not every viral image of Pitbull with hair belongs to the same episode. A 2023 trend described by Heartafact involved TikTok user Anh Nguyen using AI to add hair and facial hair to still images. Heartafact reported more than 1.6 million views and thousands of approving comments at the time. That was separate from the TikTok-filter montage that resurfaced in 2021. Heartafact’s 2023 account describes the later AI edits.
Another distinct trend emerged at concerts in 2025: fans wore bald caps and dressed to imitate Pitbull. That was a fan costume trend, not a reaction to a photo showing him with hair. Axios Miami reported on the concert trend.

The available coverage captures posts, comments and an outlet’s description of the response; it does not establish what all fans thought or what share of them approved. G105/iHeart characterized the response in a January 2022 post as “nothing but positive,” but that was the station’s impression, not a measured sentiment result. G105/iHeart’s post reflects that characterization.
