Hoshi and Woozi’s first single album as HOSHI X WOOZI, BEAM, was released on March 10, 2025. Its lead track, “96ers,” takes its name from the year both SEVENTEEN members were born—and, in Hoshi’s words, is the song that best represents the duo.
What is BEAM?
BEAM is the first single album by HOSHI X WOOZI, the subunit formed by SEVENTEEN members Hoshi and Woozi. Korea JoongAng Daily reported on its March 10, 2025 release, naming “96ers” as the lead track and listing three songs in total. The report said the album was scheduled to arrive digitally at 6 p.m. that day. The SEVENTEEN Japan official news index also lists digital distribution beginning March 10, 2025; that historical listing confirms the release date, not present-day availability.

Korea JoongAng Daily’s March 10, 2025 report says PLEDIS Entertainment released a written interview with the members on release day. The quotations and descriptions below are attributed as that outlet reported them.
What songs are on Hoshi and Woozi’s BEAM album?
The single album has three tracks:
- “96ers” — the lead track.

- “Stupid Idiot.”
The available release reporting establishes the track names and feature, but does not provide enough detail to make a sourced comparison of the songs’ genres, production or performance styles.

What does “96ers” mean?
“96ers” refers to Hoshi and Woozi’s shared birth year: both were born in 1996. Hoshi described it as the track that “best represents” the duo, connecting the title to their relationship rather than treating it as just an album name. The official fan-party notice echoed the reference with the line, “When you hear ‘96,’ you think of us!”
What did Hoshi and Woozi say about making music together?
In the interview excerpts reported by Korea JoongAng Daily, Hoshi said, “Woozi and I have always been close since we were young,” and added, “I’ve always wanted to form a subunit with him, so I’m happy to be able to present ‘BEAM.’” Woozi called Hoshi “my best friend in the whole world,” saying he was glad to make new music with him.

The official Weverse notice promoted a release celebration called SPECIAL FAN PARTY [THE 96ers SHOW]. It described an original HOSHI X WOOZI live talk show about their friendship, stories from BEAM promotions and a special performance for the party. The notice also specified a “Chic Black & Metallic Silver” dress code. These details describe the historical event, not a current event listing. The notice is available through Weverse’s official fan notice.
