If you miss Evil’s mix of skeptical investigators, clergy, Vatican intrigue and demonic menace, these recommendations offer several ways back into that territory. The original list’s headline promises ten movies, but its body actually contains nine films and one television series; this guide keeps that distinction clear and helps you choose by the kind of horror you want.
Choose by the kind of evil you want to watch
The recommendations range from exorcisms and church investigations to Antichrist stories and supernatural danger beyond familiar Catholic imagery. They are companion picks, not a ranked list.

For exorcisms and church investigations
The Pope’s Exorcist
Russell Crowe plays Father Amorth in this exorcism-centered choice. It is the most direct match if you want a priest confronting possession rather than a broader story about skeptical investigators.
The Exorcist (television series)
Ben Daniels leads this two-season series, which aired across 2016 and 2017. Its season-long case and loose ties to the film franchise make it the one episodic option in the list, with more room for character and investigation than a single feature allows.

Stigmata (1999)
Gabriel Byrne plays a Jesuit priest drawn into an investigation involving a woman who develops wounds resembling stigmata and speaks phrases in Aramaic. The story brings Vatican involvement and conspiracy into its account of apparent miracles, making it a fit for viewers drawn to the institutional mystery in Evil.
The Borderlands (also titled Final Prayer)
This 2013 British found-footage film follows a priest, a religious brother and a technician investigating reports from an ancient church. Its documentary-style setup distinguishes it from the other church-investigation picks, and its final scenes are known for a shocking turn.
Rank #2
The Vatican Tapes (2015)
Michael Peña, Dougray Scott and Djimon Hounsou star in a story about a young woman whose return from near death may involve demonic forces or the Antichrist. It combines a possible possession with the question of how religious authorities interpret what is happening.
For Satanic and Antichrist stories
Prince of Darkness (1987)
John Carpenter’s film brings a priest, a physics professor and students together to investigate a substance that may be Satan in liquid form. Donald Pleasence is among the cast. The clash between religious suspicion and scientific inquiry makes this a particularly natural fit for Evil viewers.

Rosemary’s Baby (1968)
This classic centers on the Antichrist-baby thread that also appears in Evil. It is the choice here for a slow-building story rooted in suspicion and the fear that an ordinary domestic life hides something profoundly sinister.
The Omen and The First Omen
The Omen follows the Antichrist-child premise through Damien. The First Omen is a prequel exploring events leading up to the baby swap involving the Thorn family. The franchise began with the 1976 film, while the prequel offers a route into the backstory rather than another version of the original premise.

When Evil Lurks
This film stands apart from stories organized around Satan, the Catholic Church or a priest performing an exorcism. An evil presence follows and harms people without those conventional explanations, making it a strong pick if you want supernatural horror that feels less institutionally familiar.
