Brooks said she did not recognize his account while they interacted online. The report presents her account of the events; it does not include statements from the husband or the friend.
What Brooks said happened
PerthNow described Brooks as a Victorian mother and OnlyFans creator. In the account published by the outlet, Brooks said the man had subscribed about six months before his identity came to light. She said he bought content and a higher-priced online package, and that she had met him several times without recognizing his subscriber account as his.

Brooks said her friend discovered the subscription while looking through her husband’s phone. She described feeling both violated and heartbroken, saying, “On one hand, I felt violated by one of my male friends, but then on the other hand, I felt heartbroken because I was losing one of my best friends.” She also called the experience “basically like an online affair” and said it had “hit [her] like a ton of bricks,” as quoted by PerthNow.
According to Brooks’s account, her friend stopped communicating with her afterward. Brooks believed their friendship would not recover. The report does not say that the friend’s marriage ended.

Why Brooks said she did not know the subscriber’s identity
Brooks told PerthNow that creators saw a subscriber’s username rather than identifying information, and that users could choose their own usernames. She said subscribers often remained anonymous and that creators generally did not see their faces unless they sent a selfie. She described the account as one she did not recognize, despite having met the man in person.
What the paid package involved
PerthNow reported the package cost as $3,797 a week, in addition to the subscription fee. That was the price of the package described in this story, not a standard OnlyFans price. Brooks characterized the arrangement as “basically like an online girlfriend.” The report said it included one-way video calls: she could see comments or interaction, but not the viewer. Brooks compared it to a live stream, describing it as “like that but on a one-on-one basis.”

What is—and is not—established by the report
The account is a report of Brooks’s testimony, not independent verification of the private events. PerthNow did not include statements from the husband or the friend, nor does its story independently establish the husband’s intentions or the precise content of their communications. “Online affair” is the report’s framing of a paid online interaction and Brooks’s emotional response; it should not be read as a legal finding or a universally defined category.
The same article said Brooks had more than 115,000 Instagram followers and attributed typical monthly earnings of nearly $90,000 to her. Both are figures reported in January 2024, not current counts or independently audited income.
