Yes—Roman Sinquerra is alive. In the Season 1 finale, Karadec tells Morgan that he has learned Roman is alive and knows where he is. But the season ends before Roman appears, reunites with Morgan, or explains why he disappeared.
What happens to Roman in the Season 1 finale?
In “Let’s Play,” the Season 1 finale, Karadec gives Morgan the crucial information: her former partner, Roman Sinquerra, is alive, and Karadec knows his location. It is a lead, not a reunion. The episode does not show Roman or reveal what he has been doing.

What does the Roman reveal confirm—and leave unanswered?
| Confirmed in the finale | Still unresolved at the Season 1 endpoint |
|---|---|

| Morgan has not yet reunited with him on screen. | When Morgan—or the audience—will meet him. |
Showrunner Todd Harthan said the writers intended to develop the mystery before fully explaining it. In a February 11, 2025 interview with TheWrap, he called the storyline “tricky” to handle and said, “If you bring that too heavy into the fabric of the show, too soon, it overtakes the show and becomes something else.” He described the Season 2 approach as answering some questions while deepening the mystery. That was his stated plan at the time; the finale itself does not provide those answers.
Who is the Game Maker, and what is the other cliffhanger?
Roman’s reveal is not the only thread left open. Morgan realizes that she encountered the unidentified Game Maker, who singled her out and promised another contest. The finale does not disclose his real identity or resolve what he intends to do next.

Harthan told TVLine that “I love a good serialized villain,” and described the character’s future as “a bit of an open box.” That frames the Game Maker as a continuing mystery, not a solved identity.
Does the gala dance mean Morgan and Karadec are a couple?
Morgan and Karadec share a slow dance at the police gala, but the moment is ambiguous. Harthan characterized it as potentially strategic as well as personal; the finale does not confirm a romantic turn.
