Heated Rivalry Season 2 is scheduled for Spring 2027, according to Crave and Bell Media. Hudson Williams’ September 2026 comments were about returning to his role as Shane Hollander—not a new premiere date. An exact day has not been announced in the official material cited here.
What is the Heated Rivalry Season 2 release date?
Crave and Bell Media have set the official release window for Heated Rivalry Season 2 as Spring 2027. Their August 13, 2026 announcement gave that window, which was repeated in cast announcements on August 25 and September 3. None named a specific premiere day. Bell Media’s Season 2 announcement is the clearest official timing reference.
Variety reported on February 27, 2026 that April 2027 was an expected target, tied to comments from the creators on CBS Mornings. That is a reported expectation, not an officially confirmed date. The later Crave/Bell Media announcements continue to give the broader Spring 2027 window.
What did Hudson Williams say about Season 2?
At the Toronto International Film Festival’s “Making Waves With… Hudson Williams” conversation, Williams spoke about finding his way back into Shane Hollander after the first season’s success. He said he initially wondered whether he was doing “a Shane impression,” then added, “It came back, thankfully.” He also described returning to the character as “surreal.” Rolling Stone Canada reported his comments on September 18, 2026, alongside the news that filming was underway and the season was expected in 2027: Rolling Stone Canada’s TIFF report.

Those remarks are an update on Williams’ experience of resuming the role, not an announcement of the premiere date. Jacob Tierney, the series creator, told CBS Mornings, “There will be more ‘Heated Rivalry’ on your TVs as — like, truly — as soon as humanly possible.” The statement signals eagerness to bring the show back but does not identify a launch day.
Where will Season 2 stream?
Availability depends on territory. Crave commissioned Heated Rivalry and is its original Canadian service. In the UK and Ireland, Sky Group has confirmed Season 2 for Sky and NOW in Spring 2027. The cited announcements do not establish an exact date or a global day-and-date release, so viewers should look to their local distributor for territory-specific timing. Sky Group’s UK and Ireland announcement confirms its regional window.

What story will the new season follow?
The series, created by Jacob Tierney, adapts Rachel Reid’s Game Changers books. Its first season follows rival hockey players Shane Hollander, played by Williams, and Ilya Rozanov, played by Connor Storrie. Season 2 is set to follow The Long Game, the novel that continues Shane and Ilya’s story. Marie Claire’s Season 2 coverage discusses the adaptation and Williams’ earlier promotional description of the next season as “hotter, wetter, longer.” That phrase is a tease about tone, not information about the release date.
For viewers who want to read the source story behind the next chapter, Reid’s The Long Game is the directly relevant companion book. It offers the story material Season 2 follows; it does not reveal the television premiere date.
