Haliey Welch did not simply vanish after the HAWK token crashed: she posted a statement on December 20, 2024, and her podcast reportedly returned in April 2025. Investors sued over the token, and later reporting described an effort to add Welch and others to that private case. Those filings contain allegations, not findings that Welch committed fraud or that the token was a proven “rug pull.”
What happened to the HAWK token?
$HAWK launched on the Solana blockchain on December 4, 2024. Contemporary reports described a rapid rise in its market capitalization followed by a steep drop within hours. Their estimates differ, so neither figure should be treated as a single settled valuation.

The sharp price decline is the event behind the “rug pull” description used in some coverage and online discussion. But that label is not a court finding, and the estimates above do not by themselves establish who was responsible or whether anyone broke the law.
What did investors allege, and what happened in court?
The December 2024 complaint
On December 19, 2024, investor plaintiffs filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. They alleged that $HAWK had been promoted and sold as an unregistered security in violation of federal securities law. The complaint asserted: “The $HAWK Token exhibits all the characteristics of an unregistered security under established legal precedent.” That is the plaintiffs’ position, not a ruling by a judge.

The reported effort to add Welch and others
In November 2025, Protos reported that Burwick Law had sought permission to amend the complaint to add Welch, her manager Johnnie Forster, and 16 Minutes LLC. Protos described the proposed filing as alleging an agreement for $125,000 upfront and another $200,000 tied to promotional milestones. These are reported allegations about a proposed amended complaint—not established payments, a determination of liability, or proof of wrongdoing.
Did Haliey Welch disappear from public view?
After a quieter period following the token’s December 4 launch, The Block reported that Welch posted on X on December 20, 2024, after nearly two weeks without a post. Her statement said: “I am fully cooperating with and am committed to assisting the legal team representing the individuals impacted, as well as to help uncover the truth, hold the responsible parties accountable and resolve this matter.” It expressed a commitment to cooperate; it was not an admission of wrongdoing.

A June 2026 legal explainer reported that her podcast, Talk Tuah, returned in April 2025. That later activity means an unqualified claim that she disappeared permanently is misleading. Her whereabouts and public activity as of October 2026 have not been independently verified here, so no stronger claim about her current visibility is warranted.
