Hatsune Miku’s Magic: The Gathering collaboration began with four seasonal Secret Lair drops in 2024, ending with Winter Diva in February 2025. Wizards of the Coast later announced a separate, ready-to-play Miku Commander deck in August 2026. Its 24-hour order window has passed; the announcement gives regional shipping estimates for additional orders but does not establish whether copies are currently available.
What is the Hatsune Miku Secret Lair?
Secret Lair is the name of the Magic product line through which Wizards released the Miku collaboration’s four 2024 seasonal drops. These were collections of reimagined or alternate-art Magic cards—not ready-to-play decks. Each drop had its own card list and originally announced sale period and prices.
Wizards introduced the collaboration on April 30, 2024, describing Hatsune Miku as music software developed by Crypton Future Media, Inc. Users can enter lyrics and melodies to make a computer sing; user-created work shared online helped Miku develop into a cultural phenomenon associated with merchandise and virtual-singer performances. The announcement also names Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO, and KAITO as other virtual singers developed by Crypton. Wizards wrote that Miku had been thrilling fans for “seventeen years” as of that announcement; that is a dated 2024 description, not a current age calculation. The same announcement said Magic had more than 50 million fans and was published in more than 150 countries—figures attributed to Wizards in 2024, not newly measured statistics. How is the 2026 Commander deck different?
Wizards announced a distinct Hatsune Miku Commander product on August 4, 2026: a ready-to-play, 100-card deck led by Trostani, Selesnya’s Voice, presented as “Miku, Song of the People.” Unlike the seasonal drops, it is designed as a complete Commander gameplay product. Wizards describes its green-white strategy as playing creatures, gaining life, and building a larger board.
