Benjamin Ford: chef and cookbook author
Benjamin, born in 1966, is Ford’s oldest child and the first of his two sons with Mary Marquardt. He became a chef and restaurateur, co-owned Ford’s Filling Station in Los Angeles, and wrote Taming the Feast. A 2010 profile in The National also described him as a chef. Willard Ford: business ventures and an earlier teaching role
Willard, born in 1969, is Benjamin’s younger brother. Parade reports that he created Ludwig Clothing Company and founded Strong Sports Gym in Los Angeles. A 2010 National profile described him as a teacher at that stage of his life; that dated description should not be read as a statement about his current work. Malcolm Ford: music with The Dough Rollers
Malcolm, born in 1987, is Ford and screenwriter Melissa Mathison’s son. He has been associated with the indie band The Dough Rollers. Parade’s profile cites his 2013 Interview discussion of discovering punk music, while The National described him as a musician in 2010. Parade’s profile; The National’s 2010 profile.
Georgia Ford: acting
Georgia, born in 1990, is Ford and Mathison’s daughter. She pursued acting and appeared in True Story, according to Parade’s profile. At an epilepsy-research event, Ford called her “my hero” and praised her perseverance, talent and strength. Parade’s profile.

Liam Flockhart Ford: adopted by Flockhart and Ford
Flockhart adopted Liam as a single parent in 2001, the year he was born. Ford adopted him after marrying Flockhart in 2010. The Independent reported that the family attended Liam’s Amherst College graduation in 2023. Liam has otherwise maintained a largely private public profile. In a 2010 interview with The Independent, Ford said, “I’ve got five kids in total, so it’s not my first rodeo.” He added that his older children had taught him a lot about parenting and that he reckoned he was “a little better at it” by the time his youngest child was born. The Independent.
